Just watched the last Giants preseason game and got reacquainted with Evan Engram.... movement skills are off the chart for a guy his size.

I can see Eli going to him early and often especially since the Giants don't have another TE on the roster worth a cent. I got him down as my sleeper OROY

Over react much? Their O line makes Engram, OBJ and Marshall practically obsolete. They have lots of talent at receiver but still have one of the worst O lines and running games in the entire league. Mark this post, first game Cowboys 24 Gnats 10 (and that's being gracious to the Giants).

I went to law school at Ole Miss so watched a lot of Engram. Matchup nightmare. Even when matched up with elite defenses at Bama and LSU he was often the best player on the field. And sometimes it wasn't even close

IIRC he was rated top 5 in speed among rookie RECEIVERS, which is incredible for a TE and someone his size. I agree including him with Eli's arsenal of offensive weapons is going to be difficult for opponents. The Giants achilles is their OL so here's to hoping their run game continues to struggle and Eli is constantly under duress and/or on his back!

And please tell me how he will make much of a difference when Eli has no time to throw and the offgense can't even pretend to run the ball?

I haven't even watched much of the guy, just read about him, but I've read enough about the Giants O line (and did see part of the Cleveland game) to know that they are an absolute disaster. They had one of the worst O lines in the league last year and have done practically nothing to fix it. Why is he even a concern?

Practically obsolete?

I need to remember this page when the season is over.

He's basically a large WR at this point who can beat linebackers as SS's consistently. Where guys like that become a real issue is when they learn how to block to a reasonable level because you can just put a cornerback on him and not worry about getting mauled by the run.

He's not even a tight end. If they try to make him block we need to knock him out the game like Jordan Reed.

When your oline sucks the only antidote is the Cowboys D line.

On D, the Gnats return nine of 11 starters. Yes, they "have one of he worst O lines and running games in entire league", but yet found a way to be the only team on the Cowboys schedule, to not only beat once, but twice. I don't think I'll "mark" your post and "Over react" like that on those Gnats just yet. :muttley:
