Wow. The Eagles supremely talented roster just took a hit.

No worries. I am sure Chip the genius Kelly knew this would happen all along. Which is why he hasn't drafted an offensive linemen in 14 rounds.

The Eagles now are left with two openings on the offensive line. Both guard spots will need to be filled, whether it's from in-house or with a signing or a possible draft pick. Either way, Mathis will be a tough player to replace.

The team currently has Matt Tobin, Allen Barbre, Andrew Gardner, Julian Vandervelde, Kevin Graf, David Molk, Josh Andrews and Dennis Kelly on the roster as backups. Jason Peters, Lane Johnson and Jason Kelce remain in the starting lineup.

Hard to take seriously the notion that this guy's a football genius when he has such disregard for the quality of his O-lineman. Whatever. He's either going to change the way things are done in this league or flame out spectacularly. I'm betting the latter.
