This isnt entirely draft related, but it still fits....

I dont recall seeing his name brought up in the many discussions of our shaky interior line. Anybody like him and think we could end up settling for him in FA? I thought he did a very good job for the Eagles this year and I could see him being a cheaper plan B option for Jerry. He didnt allow a sack all year and McCoy went nuts this year in the running game for the Eagles. Im not sure what the possibilities of him walking away from the Eagles are, but I really wouldnt mind seeing him with a star on his helmet. Past injuries are really his only concern.

I think the guy is a solid choice.

He graded out (per one grading agency) ahead of Nicks this season.

Mathis has put one good and out outstanding season together back to back. He could be less expensive than Nicks or Grubbs when it comes to signing him to a long-term deal.

Plus you're taking him away from Philly which is a huge bag of win.

I like him and stats show that he is a great run blocker, which is one of the reasons he graded out higher than Nicks, playing on a running team versus a spread offense.

It'd be nice if he walked away from Philadelphia, but I don't know if they will let it happen.

If he is a UFA I'd take a run at him.

If we don't get him at least we run up the price for the Eagles to sign him so it is a win-win situation. Ideally if we lose out we can still make them pay $7M/yr for his services which will squeeze their ability to pay DJax, Maclin and McCoy whose contracts will be coming up soon in the next 1-2 years.
