Even if the pick is good, the pick is bad.

Need RB1 and RG1

It was an excellent pick.
I don't think people realize how much of a need RG actually was. They have some bodies there and very good depth pieces, but none are really plus starters. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't explore a Bass or Hoffman trade now to try and move up or grab an extra pick somewhere.

IMO they had Tet and Williams their 1-2. When they went they went with the safe pick
I'm not sure about Williams but from my understanding Tet was there number one target . But Jerry said they had a long discussions the night before about Booker and another player he didn't mention but someone said it was Nolan.

Yeah, I like Burden, but Bech is my guy. This was a brilliant pick. Like, no lie. It'll take time to convince some fans. But they'll become believers in due time.

It's true. The best oline won the SB last year.
Best defense also helped.

It’s just not a sexy pick. That’s the debate. It’s over now. At least our Oline is better. Hopefully RB is next.

We have already seen the cowboys do the Oline craziness to the point of having one of the best Olines at one point, with nothing to show for.

Oline will not help the QB we currently have behind center. Fans saying we need oline must have not gotten the memo regarding the previous years.

So are we just accepting building yet another oline for Dak, one and done in the playoffs, if not miss the playoffs, and then the whole oline is gone in 4 years or so.......and then the cowboys draft another olinemen in the first again just to start the shenanigans all over again?

Are we going to continue to convince our selves that oline is a need in order to make ourselves feel good about the situation?

Some of you are insufferable.
I slept like a baby last night

Clearly, the Cowboys aren't done in the draft, UDFA and FA. This statement is over 4 months premature.
#12 overall should be an impact player. This guy is not moving the needle. I don't want to hear about speculation of who's coming to complement this pick.

It's such a roster-building flaw. And then what happens we see our defense get torched again because they have no impact makers or our passing game stall because no one else can get separation.

This OL better block for a Top-3 running game AND Top-3 in sacks allowed next season. No excuses...I will be VERY critical of them

Quit patronizing us.
You grab popcorn after buying your ticket?

Two-year starter and team captain with elite physical traits. Booker is a downhill run blocker with average explosiveness into first contact, but he utilizes his size and power to overtake defenders in the second phase of the block. He can play too far out over his toes but that’s correctable. Booker is an average athlete in protection but makes up for it with technique and football intelligence to defend against twists. He’s tough, smart and a top leader. The traits, football character and play strength will make him a good starter for a downhill, power-based attack.
Booker figures to make an immediate impact as a Cowboy, projecting to slide in as their starting right guard. While wide receiver may have been a more significant need, there’s no denying Booker will be an upgrade over the internal starting options they currently have on their roster in Brock Hoffman and T.J. Bass.

Hell, back to the 30 year calendar crap. Jimmy Johnson already gave his approval for the pick.

Line up anyone in front of him and continue your he's no impact!!

Sure it will! WTH? You Dak haters are blind to the fact that we are building up an O-line to run the ball again. You should be happy with this pick. Plus getting that running game guru coach from Kansas. Running the ball will take the ball out of Dak's hands getting us back to 2016 mentality. I'm all for it.

Some of you will complain about anything.

You have to build the team regardless of Dak.

Jerry has his mind made up to continually double down on Dak. So what do you do? Just pass?

The Eagles won the Superbowl because of play of their lines. We all saw it. Lines that were filled with drafted players no less. But now this isn't a sexy pick so the Cowboys failed the draft?

This pick is fine

IF Schottenheimer is what we think he is then Dak is only going to throw it 25 times per game and run it upwards of 40 (based off a 65 play game) and use up the clock

IF Jerry & Stephen don’t interfere with game plans that’s is….because “my 60
Million qb isn’t there to hands the ball off” which makes no sense to say

Dak is paid 60 million to make smart throws, 3rd and 8 pick up 9 yards….4th and 5 get us 6 yards…no turnovers in the red zone

Stats should look like this

17/25 215 yards 2 tds and 0 ints

Williams/Sanders/Rookie RB 40 carries (split) 185-220 rushing yards 2 tds

That’s the purpose of Schottenheimers offense

The Cowboys have made lots of questionable decisions over the past 30 years. Paying Dak was one of them. The Cowboys have reached to fill needs etc.

In my opinion the Cowboys did one thing right with this pick. They stopped chasing their tail and trying to cover up for previous poor decions with another bad decision.

This pick screams BPA. I hope that the Cowboys continue to draft BPA throughout this draft. They will still have gaping holes at the end of the draft if they do that, but the players that are chosen will have a much better chance of not busting out.

I don’t care what the position is. Just choose a great player that you have as the best player on your board and stick to that. Even if it’s a QB like the Bama QB at some point. Just stick to your board.

This team is not going very far this year. Add talent to it and worry about filling holes as you can.

it seems Everyone on this board praises the eagles but their qb who’s making a buttload of money isn’t even the focus he just makes the smart plays and limits turnovers while the line and Saquon take over the game

But when Dallas builds for that it’s stupid

The best oline won the Superbowl last year. Boys are not one year away free a SuperBowl, but you can start with the trenches.

If they could have traded down for anything worthwhile, they would of.
Well there is a very good argument to be made that they didn't have to move down to get someone worthwhile. Golden was there, Ebuka was there.
And heck, how bad was Houston's trade offer cuz if they would of offered a 7th rounder to move up, we could of still gotten Booker at Houston's spot.
Oh well, we got a guy that is good and we can use, but people need to lay off the whole "it's all we could do"
