Even if the pick is good, the pick is bad.

to win a superbowl, history says you need the best team. which especially includes, good lines on both sides of the ball and a really good defense, It is the reason the eagles won last year, it is the reason that mahomes has been very successful. If mahomes is running around doing cartwheels and completing 8 yard passes in cleveland, nobdoy knows who he is because they are a bad TEAM. If we don't win a superbowl next year, it will be because the TEAM isn't good enough, mostly the trenches. It won't be because DAK simply can't win.

it seems Everyone on this board praises the eagles but their qb who’s making a buttload of money isn’t even the focus he just makes the smart plays and limits turnovers while the line and Saquon take over the game

But when Dallas builds for that it’s stupid
Exactly.

This is one of the more ridiculous theories on this board.

We had a great line before and didn't when a championship, therefore great lines aren't important enough to invest in.

What? The ignorance is insufferable.

A day 1 starter on either the offensive or defensive line who was not a big reach will never ever be a bad pick
Strong but kind of a reach.
Very similar to how people felt about Travis Frederick on draft day. Good player, but didn't seem like we got good value on the draft position.

Lets hope it turns out the same, except for the weird disease.

We have already seen the cowboys do the Oline craziness to the point of having one of the best Olines at one point, with nothing to show for.

Oline will not help the QB we currently have behind center. Fans saying we need oline must have not gotten the memo regarding the previous years.

So are we just accepting building yet another oline for Dak, one and done in the playoffs, if not miss the playoffs, and then the whole oline is gone in 4 years or so.......and then the cowboys draft another olinemen in the first again just to start the shenanigans all over again?

Are we going to continue to convince our selves that oline is a need in order to make ourselves feel good about the situation?

Some of you are insufferable.
Your viewpoints are insufferable so we're even..

This season is gonna look like 2018 when we tried rolling with Beasley as WR2. We traded for Amari and gave up a 1st that season. Lack of weapons on offense is staggering. Lamb is gonna be like, who am I playing with? OU had more talent at skill positions.
Nothing like it at all we have lamb who's a premier top three wide receiver that's the difference.. Besides the fact that there's about 18 more wide receivers in the draft and there's free agents still there including Amari Cooper but Keenan Allen they could make a trade for one I mean 5 months before getting one and you act like we're going with wide receiver by committee with discounting the fact that we have a number 1?

They literally had Hearns and Tavon Austin and a rookie Michael Gallup.

This year we have CD Lamb Turpin who's better than Austin although they can be compared one is healthy and can deliver if he's used properly in an offense and Tobert who I'll say is better than Hearns so you're off base by a mile and they're not even done yet this is nothing like that show me the CD Lamb that was on that 2018 team that's right it was Amari Cooper after the trade...

I think Booker will be a plug and play guy for a decade and will be a good player, but I get that its not an exciting pick for fans. Especially selecting oline 3 out of the last 4 picks.

Time is on our side my friend and many options still on the board. Offense and defense need holes filled so let's see what they do tonight.

true So I'm going to take it a step further no it won't be settled tonight let's wake up Tuesday morning and have a full look at the entire moves they made between last night and Tuesday morning.... I believe they're going to satisfy at least the larger majority of the fan base with undrafted free agents the rest of the draft a free agent a trade there's things in the works they have a plan it started last night i'm willing to give them a little bit of time to get it done...

It's not bad that's only in your mind if all they did was last night picking offensive lineman short but if you take what they've done already in the offseason if you take what they're going to do the rest of the draft who they pick up undrafted free agents a trade or two and we look at it coming out of camp and then we can decide what this really looks like but your whole take on hate that thing it's old it's outdated it's nonsense he's here there's no reason to complain about it he's still one of the best quarterbacks in the league and if you don't agree I don't care most actual professionals would agree at his worst he's top ten..

Yeah the Cowboys should have pulled the Giants they should have drafted and then paid and then cut Daniel Jones then bring over spare parts between then and now and then pass up on Sanders and then trade back up and get some dude who may take years before he even becomes Drew Locke or he could have a beggar upside but you're complaining about Prescott when there are far worse situations than him to worry about in the NFL and on our team they have holes to fill and they're not worried about the quarterback they're not doing this just for the quarterback they need a run game they need us to win.

It looks like a good pick. They've hit on damn near every1st round O-line pick, so I think we have to give them the benefit of the doubt. The Cowboys biggest issue is not being able to hit on second round picks. They don't have to be stars, but they absolutely need to make significant contributions.
Today seems almost anti-climactic, but it’s the most important day….and one they need to do just a little better on.

Recently hasn’t been bad but that may be more about the jury still being out.

Get it right today Cowboys. Please do not approach it as if you’re winning it all next year. Invest largely in the front seven I beg of you!

Was martin a bad pick?
Tyron, Fredrick, Martin, Tyler smith, Beebee ...Guyton TBD but attached with BB because of the trade down..nOw booker.. At this point their track record with offensive lineman is almost spotless... Even the questionable guys like Connor Williams Connor Mcgovern Tyler be honest all went and got starting jobs elsewhere and if you add in the RT was steal at the time in Lael collins..

So I'll trust their judgment here at least before I see what they do between now and Tuesday.. I'm a big picture guy so I want to see this unfold..

The Eagles are the masters of OLine play...they're right in our own division, and we STILL can't learn from them.

They would never take a guard with a top 15 pick. I doubt they'd take a guard with a pick in the 20s, unless he had tackle flexibility.

Booker is good in a phone booth, but he just has so so athleticism...and isn't good in space. IMO (and in lots of real GMs opinions) you don't use a pick as high as 12 for a guy like that.

They could have drafted the giant NC State oTackle (belton), whose probably even more of a straight line brute than Booker is, and just kicked him to guard...and gotten him in the 3rd round. Then you'd have the same phone booth guard, but with the ability to play tackle in a pinch, for much lower cost, and coulda used that 12 pick for one of the 12 best players in the draft. THATS what the Eagles do. We never learn
