I see a lot of complaints of the defense based on the Eagles and Giants game this year. Neither of those teams were weak offensively at the time the games were played. The Cowboys offense played poor in both those games and put the defense in bad positions.
When I say GROZ it's not usually because of the actual effort of defenders, more that they are not put in position to succeed by the coaches as well as they could be. Against Philly, they forced a fumble and scored a TD, but then ran a predictable play and got burned for an 87 yard TD. Roy also blew some coverages, but I think it's because he's asked to make too many decisions and that's not his strength. Let your players do what they do best, don't try and turn them all into Darren Woodson. The defense was not why we lost the game, but it has too much talent not to be cut loose.
We finally saw this kind of thing start to change vs. Indy, and I hope the trend continues. These players might make a DC out of Mike Zimmer yet.
