Wow. Ok, it makes me nervous when everybody starts talking about how good Dallas is. From the NY Times article:

Teams often talk about rebuilding through the draft, but most of them do not mean they are going to do it in one year. That’s what the Dallas Cowboys (1-0) did in 2016. Coming off a 4-12 season, the Cowboys took Ezekiel Elliott, a running back, with the fourth pick of the draft, and watched as he was named first-team All-Pro after leading the N.F.L. in rushing yards. Dak Prescott, a quarterback taken 135th, played so well as a fill-in starter that he was able to steal Tony Romo’s job even after the former Pro Bowler was healthy. Maliek Collins, a defensive tackle drafted 67th, started 14 games and registered five sacks. And Anthony Brown, a cornerback drafted 189th, started 10 games.

It was already an embarrassment of riches, but last week, Jaylon Smith, a linebacker whom they took a chance on with the 34th pick in that draft, returned after missing all of last season with a knee injury, and made up for lost time with seven tackles and a forced fumble. Smith’s career was once considered in jeopardy, and there was no guarantee he would regain his explosiveness, but if Week 1 was any indication, the Cowboys have added a fifth starter from a single draft, and potentially a third superstar.

There is still some ambiguity as to Elliott’s status going forward, [...] but with the offense at full strength, and Smith adding explosiveness to the defense, the Cowboys are nearly unbeatable. Pick: Cowboys

the writer is correct, if you dont factor the coaches, the Cowboys as players are damn near unbeatable. Its the coaching that adds the X factor that really can flip a game for us. The Giants game i do credit them, even if i dont agree 100 percent. Marinelli had the D ramped up and overall the coaches did well, i just hate when something is working well and they get away from it. Let Zeke run. Let Cole burn them.

It really seemed they wanted to force the ball to Dez when Dak had other open receivers.

Dez also was open a lot too tho. Its about execution once the plays were called. Too many of Prescotts passes were high or behind the receiver and even he will say that.

yeah that worries me. I much prefer the hate and contempt and continual predictions that we are all smoke and mirrors.

I DO agree with some that our real weakness is at HC. Basically his game time decisions, etc. I think he gets the team very well prepared most of the time and ready to play which are key ingredients of good coaching. I think he has improved as regards game time but still....

My big problem with Linehan is trying to be too cute. Sometimes you want to go right at the D and impose your will. That was how Lombardi built his dynasty.

not going to argue that, sometimes what i see is not reality. I tho think Jenkins did a good job on Dez whether throws were off or not. He just has a good way of covering Dez, but we wont know because as reality shown, Dak was off for a lot of throws.

Mike Francesa also said Dak was the worst QB in 3rd and long last year and eventually will be exposed.

I just hate when we take Zeke away during crucial drives and sub him in for Morris or Mcfadden. Especially on 3rd downs.

I honestly think the Broncos are a tad overrated.
they may be overrated but that defense isn't overrated. if the running game isn't in grade A form, our boys are going to be in trouble.
