Looks like they forgot about Brooks Bollinger.

Brooks never started. He came into the Giants game to relieve Brad Johnson in 2008 while Tony was hurt and then came in late against the Eagles in the final game of the season.

that's fine if you don't want to acknowledge the impact of the salary sap era. Murray, Ware and them some would still be here otherwise. I'd be interested to know the '95 team salary converted to today's $$ and then today's cap. Maybe I'll do some googling...

From wikipedia:

The cap was first introduced for the 1994 season and was initially $34.6 million.

I cannot put Tony ahead of Troy. Records or stats or whatever. Just can't.

That's fine. Both are great, but to me, Romo is just a blast to watch play almost backyard football out there. A very exciting player to watch.

That's a great pic of Staubach, from his first post-season start. (@Min '71) The Cowboys won all 13 games he started that year, and he had a 104.8 rating in a year when 59.8 was the average.

Fav: Roger. He was the man. Captain America.

Least: Too many to list, all the dudes from the dark Jerry Jones era of trying to outsmart the system.

1a. Troy
1b. Roger
1c. White
1d. Romo

The two I couldn't stand: Leaf and Cunningham

There were others I did not like but the above two just left a stench in my mouth :(

Era is the era... has nothing to do with it.

Aikman went for wins and Super Bowl wins. Never went for stats.

Romo can be more of a playmaker but he is NOT the better "quarterback". Nope.

Do you think theres a romo era team troy would have won a SB with? And do gou not think romo wouldnt have won a a couple SBs with those earlh 90s teams?

Romo is a better QB, but has never had the kind of elite defense, running game, and line around him like Aikman had for so long. This year looks like it could be the year where things finally start adding up, I honestly believe this defense could be top 5 with a couple of tweaks here and there, and this line could allow for another 2,000 yard rushing performance. If that happens, the sky is the limit for this team, hope it ends up good. *knocks on wood*

2009 is about the only one where it is possible, and 2009 collapsed because it's line collapsed in that final game (if you remember Flo got hurt early, which made Doug Free play his first game at LT as a pro right across from Jared Allen, Colombo was playing hurt and needed to be benched, but after Free we had no one, and I want to say there was an injury in the interior the line as well but I forget who). No way does he win one with the 2014 team because the defense just wasn't good enough.

Man, that was a long run of premium QBing with the Staubach/longley/White era.

It's funny, we were good when we had excellent QBs, not so much when we didn't, weird.
