Each draft is unbalanced when it comes to positional strength, and it is wise to make decisions off of those imbalances to maximize addition of talent. If there is a steep drop off of talent at any position, take a player at that position, as long as there is somewhat of a need. Some might call this playing to the board. I get the sense that RB is clustered at a similar level of talent in rounds 2 through 5, not that far off from Bijan Robinson.
I would be OK with picking Bijan Robinson in the first round, but since there's not that much of a drop off of talent, I'd hope for getting Israel Abanikanda in the 3rd round.
In my opinion, DT and LB drop off talent fairly significantly after the first one and a half rounds, so picking Mazi Smith or Drew Sanders first would be good, hopefully after a trade down.
I'd hope for a scenario where Dallas trades down into the front edge of the 2nd round and other shuffling and gets
36 Mazi Smith
38 Drew Sanders
90 Israel Abanikanda
It would be terrific to get that lineup, and Dallas should look for swing tackles in later rounds. The guard position is not rising to the level of any being picked in round 1.
In one mock draft at PFF, I had to unfortunately trade away next years first to get this haul of draft picks.
32 Mazi Smith DT
33 Drew Sanders LB
37 Steve Avila G
63 Garrett Williams CB
70 Nathaniel Dell WR
109 Israel Abanikanda RB
175 Viliami Fehoko, Edge
