Every draft pick needs to be on D

I still think this is a talented unit. The inability to get a competent DT who can play the run baffles me though. It's gotten to a point where the rest of the defense is suffering. Tough when you are consistently against short yardage situation .

I hope we can find some big nasty DTs in free agency.

after a Tristan Hill I don’t trust this FO to draft a DT.

I believe we have a scheme problem. I don’t believe our lack of defensive turnovers are all on talent.

I'm not going to pass up offensive positions if it's clear the player is BPA

I agree. I really thought we were seeing a change during the eagle game, but have gone back to the same scheme that got us rolled by the jets and packers.

Teams have adjusted, but the cowboys struggle to adapt.

we'll see with the big re-signings (Dak, Cooper, Byron, Quinn) we have to make, plus a lot of room to restructure, how aggressive the Cowboys will be.

My priority in the off-season would be to explore the Jamal Adams situation. The Jets have already announced Gase will be back. Knowing Jamal, I think that situation will only grow worse. If you can talk the Jets off their unrealistic demands, he's a home run addition to this team, even if it costs multiple draft picks.

Free agent-wise, the guys I'm going after are:
Broncos Safety Justin Simmons (if we don't get Adams)
Texans DT DJ Reader (6'3", 347, and will be 26)
Steelers Edge Bud Dupree (if we don't re-sign Quinn to a team friendly deal)

Draft-wise:
Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
Terrell Lewis, Edge, Alabama
Curtis Weaver, Edge, Boise State
Trevon Diggs, Corner, Alabama (Stefon's brother)
Caleb Farley, Corner, Virginia Tech (my super sleeper)
Grant Delpit, Safety, LSU (stock is slipping)
Ashtyn Davis, Safety, Cal

Our free agent situation (lots of them) allows us an opportunity to move on from some of these guys and add 4 or 5 new players to the defense.

Adding Reader and a top pick (Brown or Kinlaw) might seem like overkill at DT but it completely changes the whole defense. Stops the run, interior pressure, keeps second level blocks off our LB's.

Last, you can't count on him but if we can get Randy Gregory back, he's an impact Edge guy who is an instant upgrade over guys like Dorance Armstrong and Joe Jackson.

Yeah we need a big run stuffing dt.

We can’t really replace the linebackers though, which are an issue. Sort of stuck with what we have for now. Hopefully the new coaching staff can fix this.
