Every team in the NFL thinks they improved after the draft

The only way you don't 'go backwards' is if all your best players come back. Martin retired - replaced, Tank gone - replaced, CBs injured - possible help there, LBs injured - sured up, got a RB that fits our scheme in Blue, and some big body DTs to help stop the run.

Everybody thinks Jones sucks as a GM but somehow falls into the 'show me the shiny object' mentality. Do more in FA, but don't trade for players unless they are cheap all-pro guys. Dak sucks but we need to get him more WRs so he can throw more. It's just weird.

Single biggest thing we can do for Dak is get the running game back in order. To do that you have to open up holes and Martin had declined a lot. I actually thought Hoffman was doing better. We upgraded there. We signed a few RBs in FA that we could, drafted a guy who will fit our scheme really well in Blue, and got another more prototypical back. Have to think our running game is going to be better, and by extension that will open things up in the passing game.

We kept Osa who should fit our DL scheme well, got another baller pass rusher and got guys to help stop the run and shore up LB and CB.

What else do you want?

Sam Williams is expected to be a full go for #Cowboys training camp and as early as OTAs, though limited in the latter.

We had a good draft. That doesn’t mean we can compete with the Eagles. Zach Edey was a good pick. 7 blocks in a playoff game. But the Grizzlies still got swept by the Thunder.

Yea, everyone single team thinks they nailed the draft every year….yet obviously they all don’t, not even close

Sure would be nice if our owner believed in free agency to combine with the draft…

Eagles have a ridiculous amount of talent right now….in my opinion we went backward
And most have. It's more about the degree of improvement.

I think the draft was a net positive, while FA so far has been a net negative. Overall I think the team is worse, but OL is better. If we are lucky, the DL will be as well. I don't think any of the FA wr/rbs are better than what we had/drafted. I wish they valued Lewis more.
We lost a hall of famer linemen….dont see how we got better

I don't see the issue here. Of course every team goes into the draft thinking they're going to improve their team. That's what NFL scouts, GM's, etc. do. Why even bother drafting if no one thinks it will improve anything? smh

So instead of a 7 win team were a 5 win team now? Interesting

Ultimately, Kiper graded the Cowboys' draft a flat B. It's worth noting that the grade is the lowest in their division, with the Washington Commanders securing a B+ while the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants both got an A-.

"Overall, this is a solid, if unspectacular, haul," he concluded.

He never looks fondly on a Dallas draft...not even in 2016.

Both of the 2nd day picks went defense and 3 of 6 Day 3 picks went to the defensive side of the ball!

Because every team did improve by way of the draft.

The Dallas Cowboys had a strong 2025 NFL Draft as they focused on a best player available approach, picking multiple Day 2 and Day 3 players that can earn big roles in their first year in the league. However, the team's overwhelming need for wide receiver was left unattended in each of their nine picks.
