This is a good team. I honestly believe that at this point. We've had a few good teams in the last 25 years.

Every week I read about the next game is the real test. The first game of the year there were questions about Dak's accuracy and Zeke's availability..and a host of other questions. Last week we had people wondering if it was a trap game because we were playing an historically bad team. I've read all week that New Orleans is the real test to see if this team is any good. Will our defense wake up? Will we ever get a pick? Can Dak keep his level of play up against a good defense? Every week, every team, every talented player creates unique challenges that we have to overcome.

Every time I read that a real test is coming up, I can't help but agree. No matter how many questions have been answered, questions remain. It doesn't diminish my enthusiasm or my confidence. I'm probably the biggest homer on this board. But we aren't going to go into a single game this year that won't answer some questions about this team.

This week, and in the following weeks, we play much tougher teams. We should win them if we continue to play better football each week. If we do, then the narrative becomes, "Can the Cowboys keep stringing wins together?" That is a completely different challenge to beating teams that we should just beat.

Then the playoffs and conference championship games change every thing again.

Every week is the real test.

These Cowboys are going to answer those questions.

I believe they will pass these tests this year and get to take the final exam. Once we pass that test, and we will, this will go down in the history books as one of our best years ever.

Superbowl champs.

The Saints game is especially intriguing. The fact that the Saints lost there starting QB and the Dallas fans are still majorly concerned, is a sign of RESPECT. I think we all have respect of Kamara, Thomas, the coach and the defense. After watching the Saints game last week, they seem to be a team that is full of emotion. They use their emotion to gain momentum. The best way Dallas can attack there team is to score early and not allow the Saints to jump-start that enthusiasm. I also expect to see two dominating performance by Dallas. I think the D-line will dominate the LOS. Bridgewater will be under distress often. The Defense will keep the Saints points to a minimum.

I also think the O-line will pound the Saints into submission. Zeke will approach 200 yards from scrimmage.

I agree. NFL is 16 test all real. Some harder than others but none the less they are test. And teams who are not ready or do not execute or make too many mistakes will get beat even vs lesser overall talent. It happens every year

The real test is do or die come playoff time. Regular season is just there to determine who the playoff teams are. Just get to the tournament and then take care of business.

The Cowboys will pass enough tests to qualify for the final exams in January.

That's when we'll see if they have one of the best years ever.

Some will say "we haven't played any tough teams yet", others say "we can only play who's on the schedule".

Both are correct, as far as the statements go.

You can, and have to, look beyond the wins and the scores. Does beating a "weak" team mean you're not any good, or are good? Not at all.

Every team has it's strengths and weaknesses, how do the Cowboys match up? Miami has some good defensive players, but yet the line was able to block them, the receivers were able to get open, the running backs broke tackles or made the defender miss, etc. Miami has a couple of good offensive players, but the Cowboys were able to get some sacks, knock down passes, fill holes and make tackles and cover receivers so that Rosen couldn't throw where he wanted to.

In that regard, there's no question Zeke is a top running back, Martin, Frederick and Smith are top notch offensive linemen, Cooper a top notch receiver, B. Jones a top notch corner, LVE a top linebacker, and so forth.

I have no doubt this is a good to very good team. And considering B. Jones and Lawrence and Cooper didn't play in the preseason, Zeke little, Witten little and we have a new OC with new plays (or wrinkles to old ones), the team has the potential to be even better.

Super Bowl-caliber?

Too early to tell, but it's a definite possibility. But considering the 2007 team was penciled in by some, if not a lot, of "experts" and lost to a freaking wild card team they had already beaten twice in the regular season, pardon me if I"m not all giddy about this team, at least not yet...

16 weeks,16 test, pass enough of them and you get the opportunity to take a few more, that's life in the NFL.

This reminds me of 2016 when Dak first took over and came in hot. The same thing was said then as it is now, “next week is the real test”. If going 13-3 and winning the division is the test, then I’m all game.

Execute the game plan and do what you are supposed to do. Eliminate mistakes, no turnovers, but get turnovers. Pass the test.
Then we get the yeah, but now we have Rodgers and GB. They come here, not scared. Even if GB whip Philly tonight, and we struggle to win.
I can imagine the posts all through the week.

But me, no, not scared of them. Tough game, yes, but not scared. Not in either game, bring them on.

My view (As usual,) is somewhere in the middle. Every time we play an incomplete team it’s a practice to get better for when we play Superior Complete teams, and those tougher teams are very few.

I consider our team Top 10 in the league, maybe even Top 5. That means aside from God forbid injuries, most teams we play are practice games to fine tune and, “Get Better” as the coaches always preach, weekly....

The word “Test” is probably not as applicable to this scenario although some might say each game we play “Refines” or “Fine Tunes” this team.

Injuries are the only thing that derails a top contender.. Most casual fans don’t realize if a player is injured he can’t play at the same level. He’s on the field therefore he must perform!!

No he’s collecting an incentive based pay check and trying to keep his position, even if it diminishes our chances of winning...

Carry on
