We all knew that this team was not Superbowl bound. That's reality. This team was missing some very important parts to become a dominating team. In fact, this team has surprised most people at how fast the new D and rookies have jelled and how many point the O was able to put up (on occasion). Frankly, I am surprised that we are in every single game and haven't gotten blown out a few times. I know it's better to be in the game rather than getting blown out, but it sure hurts like hell. It also tell me that we are ahead of schedule in retooling.

The D is going to be dominating (just need to finish the game, we dominated the top three O team the past three wks). The O is missing some parts that can be addressed next yr via FA and draft. It will be retooled just like what we did with the D this yr.

I am not giving up this yr (we will barely make the playoffs), but next yr is our BIG yr. :)

True that I didn't think this team was SB bound. But, that was BEFORE the season started.

The fact is that they have as good of a chance as anybody to making the SB. They've practically dominated all three of their divisional rivals who coincidentally are considered top teams of the NFC. They controlled the Seahawks game, another team considered a top NFC team. The only teams left are the Bucs, Panthers, and Falcons. I seriously don't see any of those teams being clearly better than Dallas.

The problem is that they just squander victories.

I agree, but the way we are losing games is so heartbreaking. we could easily be 7-0 which is why i am so angry.... if this team was just straight losing to these teams, i could live with it because i know we werent superbowl favorites, but to have such a good shot at winning, and not try to take advantage of it, is pathetic. Parcells seems to think teams are just going to let us win without working for it and it aint happenin.

They've played the 2 best teams in the NFC, IMHO. Dominated one, and lost the other to last minute drives. The team has obvious holes, as does every team in the NFC. The first half of the schedule has been brutal. Looking forward to the 2nd half.

I think this is a team that could give the Colts a run for their money if we met in the Super Bowl. The trouble is that I don't think we're consistent enough to GET to that game.

If we can knock out the mistakes and get consistent, then there's no team that we can't beat.

These losses bug the hell out of me but you can't help but see the improvement the team has made.

While the loss hurts and stings, I am not to down because I just like what I am seeing for the Future.

We have young talent all over the place, we have a lot to build around.

In no way have I given up on this season, and I think we can make some noise.

I also agree we will seriously be a SUPER BOWL Contender next year. This team reminds me a lot of the "91" team. Up and coming, and you can just see it.

The main difference is we have a lot of Vets mixed in as well, but mainly on the O-Line and WR. We need to go hard after these 2 areas in the off season and have this team set up for a decade.

I dont know if I agree or not.

First half away games:
San Diego
San Francisco
Oakland
Seattle

Second half away games:
Philadelphia
New York
Washington
Carolina

Tougher schedule goes to second half for away games.

Home games first half:
Washington
Philadelphia
New York
Arizona

Home games second half:
Detroit
Denver
Kansas City
St Louis

Tougher schedule goes to first half for home games, but second half is no slouch aside from Detroit.

I think with all the away division games, the second half of the season is going to be the brutal one.

Consistency is part of a SB team. Something that this team lack. We never know which O is showing up. That's why I think we are missing a few parts on O to contend for SB. I do agree that we are capable of beating anyone on any given Sunday.

Against the Colts, we may get blow out. It's not because our D can't play competitively. It'll be because our OL can't hold up and it will give the Colts Offense too many chances to score.

we need a draft focused on offense. and then we will be ready for the SB run. arizona and the bye should be a big help. but i think next year is the real year we start worrying about SB.

I hate this mentality, especially in todays day and age...its a cop out

the fact is almost anyone has a chance if your well coached and stay healthy...there are no more overwhelming teams, anything can happen on a week to week and year to year basis...it doesnt take years to build a winner any longer

I agree the NFL is a win now league. Back in the Landry days you could take 5 years to build your team. I you drafted good you could stay on or near the top for ten years. Not today. You must win games when you get the chance. Think about the 2003 Panthers and 2001 Patriots. Both teams were thought to be at least one year away.

What's it going to be then, eh?

That does not look like a cupcake schedule either.

We have two more "winnable" games: Arizona next week and possibly the Rams on the last day of the season. Other than that, we have a tough road ahead.

Games like this are those that you look back on at the end of the season and can be the difference between a 9-7 finish and something like 7-9.
