The news is Jerry plugged the trigger less than 24 hrs after moving on from Garrett.

Before I get going, this board will be filled with so much emotions, bad, good, same as what the Cowboys had in Garrett, nothing is going to change because it is Jerry, etc...... The board is going to resemble a room full with females filled with emotional feelings.

The chant was fire Garrett and doesn't matter who with, anyone but Garrett. Then was a week after the season where these emotional "fans" (short for fanatics) wanted Jerry to get rid of Garrett immediately and why is it taking so long. Then the news came down Sunday that Dallas FINALLY removed on and the emotional fanatics ramped up their emotional fuel tanks with WHO IS NEXT & how long.

So within 24 hrs, the question was answered with Mike McCarthy and now you see the negative posts.
These are the same TYPE of fanatics that wanted "anyone but The Clapper" and that happen and the emotional ladies are still not happy. They wanted "their" guy or the Jerry Jones SPLASH hiring.

Remove the emotions ! Is McCarthy a better coach than Garrett? Honestly, no one will know. We all hope he is just as the Eagles fans wanted Andy Reid gone and was replace with Doug Peterson and their fans were not happy with Peterson (at the time) because he was OC @ Kansas City. They wanted a BIG splash and as time shows now, it was a good hire.

McCarthy may or may not be a good hire. Only time will tell but it was time for a different message in the Dallas locker room. McCarthy has experience and took a year off to re-charge and re-evaluate.

I am just as guilty of criticizing Jerry Jones and have said Dallas will never see a Superbowl until Jerry visits Al Davis, but at this time--right now-- this is a good hire. Coach Mike has the experience and was only away from the game for a single season. He was won a Superbowl. It will be easy to rip this hire if the Cowboys get worse but it's easy to look back and make opinions. When you need hire someone to fix your car, home repair, whatever, you do your best to find an experienced person that has the knowledge to fix the very thing you need fixing. That doesn't 100% guarantee that after ALL your research, that the person you hire, that it will be 100% better. You did the best you could, AT THAT TIME, to hire the individual to repair your broken whatever. You didn't hire the person on emotions but facts/research.

Hire could have been better, could have been worse. But as long as you believe it’s better than Garrett then that’s something.

Thank you for the common sense post that many bi-polar fans on here will fail to see.

Make it happen Coach Mike!

Everyone had a coach in mind to replace Garrett. If MM did not match that expectation, the emotions came out. This is more a human tendency. You are expecting Mexican cuisine for supper and someone puts Chinese noodles in front of you. You will be disappointed and may even voice that disappointment out but you will get over it especially if the noodles taste good or you are extremely hungry.

Nice analogy !

I wonder how many Frequent Flyer Miles and Lobster dinners Marvin Lewis is gonna rack up before every coaching position is filled

Not a huge fan of the pick but it's a new era and I can't wait to get it started. I am more concerned with the defensive side of things anyways.

My problem is the message in Dallas has not changed. McCarthy agreed to accept that Jerry will pick all asst coaches and personnel which is the same type of puppet regime that has been in place. Jerry hired a coach that wouldn’t push back against him and that makes him comfortable. Is that any type of change? Swapping one puppet for another is not change or progress. Jerry’s ego will continue to run the team as always. It looks like after all these years of failure, he would be willing to gamble with some changes.
