I know this is gonna make everyone hate me but i threw together my cowboys draft day 1 big board. I just want helpful opinions about how i should move it around. please dont freak out. haha

Disclaimer: I know i have Vince Young #1. All these are ONLY if they drop to a posision they can grab people. My personal opinion is if JJ smells him he will try and grab him. Im not gona argue about that. just an opinion. Now tell we how i should move this around before draft day. please. Alot of people here are more knowledgable than me.

ps. this is only for day 1

I just can't agree with some of that. I think Winston Justice is top 5 on the overall list to start. If he's around 18, good chance they make a move for him rather than Ko Simpson, etc. I'm a huge fan of Lawson, but I wonder if Parcells wants another former DE to become a OLB.

As much as I hope it's not true, I do believe Young would be high on our list if he's around us.

Understood. thats just a draft. i got threeweeks to revize. i just dont like OT in first unless they a set starter. but that a personal bias. Thanks for the input man. appreciate it

The system is all off.

You have to rank it even if the guy won't be there, just in case, like Aaron Rodgers, no one saw him falling so when he did, no one had him scouted effectively.

Ferguson/Justice are up there. Ngata, Leinart, Young, Cutler, Williams, etc, all the way down to our pick. You never know.

4. Chad Jackson wr Great natural tools to be the next TO without the mouth ran 4.32 at combine

I know I've pretty much become the anti-Jackson contingent here, but to state that Jackson will be the next TO is completely baseless. They aren't close to the same type of player.

For all that great speed, Jackson simply didn't get enough seperation. That isn't coaching, it is that his game speed simply doesn't match his track speed. Game speed had him as a 3rd round prospect, track speed jumped him to the first round.

Personally, I hope he falls to Dallas and we don't select him so that people will know that our team didn't like him as well as some of the draftniks. Similar to the DJ and Merriman last year.

I see absolutely no problem with taking Young at #18 IF he drops that far, but the odds are against it.

I agree for the most part with your list, but I believe you left off a few targets that could get some serious looks from the Cowboys draft team. CB Jimmy Williams could be a steal at pick #18 because his stock is dropping a little. He definitely has the physical gifts to be a pro bowler in the NFL, and he also used to play Safety. This way he could fill in at either position and be comfortable with it.

Also there is CB Jonathan Joseph, whom I have said all along would eventually be the best CB taken in this draft. He has great hands, can tackle, and can play the run. He has raw physical talent and could flourish under the right system and coaching staff.

DE/OLB Kamerion Wimbley is also a first round prospect. Though he isn't as fast as Lawson, he is still a dominant outside pass rusher with physical gifts to be a dominant force in the 3-4. He may need a year or two to fully develop his technique though.

Wimbley is a much better player than Lawson at this point. You dont have either of the nose tackles listed either....

If this is for first round purposes only I would just set up your "big board" 1-32 and rank them accordingly as opposed to just focusing on area of need.
