For those interested, I just completed another Fanspeak On The Clock draft.

I'm really happy with how things fell for this one and got pretty much everything I had hoped for, except for the safety position. That one never seemed to line up. Let me know what you all think:

19: R1P19
DL VITA VEA
WASHINGTON

50: R2P18
WR D.J. MOORE
MARYLAND

81: R3P17
C FRANK RAGNOW
ARKANSAS

116: R4P16
LB JOSEY JEWELL
IOWA

137: R4P37
S QUIN BLANDING
VIRGINIA

171: R5P34
LB MICAH KISER
VIRGINIA

192: R6P18
OT WILL RICHARDSON
NC STATE

193: R6P19
LB TEGRAY SCALES
INDIANA

208: R6P34
RB AKRUM WADLEY
IOWA

236: R7P18
G TONY ADAMS
NC STATE

I would like this very much. Between Jewell at 54 and Kiser at 5, I suspect one could be a two down LB for us.

Scales is an interesting name in the 6th.

Thanks.

While I'm not a big fan of drafting a linebacker in round one, I definitely realize the need to stock the position. And I think this team needs two to three draft picks to do that.

And my thinking is like yours, that between Jewell and Kiser they can find that running downs linebacker.

Scales is a personal favorite. He doesn't fit the mold, but he's smart, instinctive, and a leader. And very productive.

Admittedly you are left hoping that Smith can be an effective SAM and nickel backer with Lee. If that's the case, then LB play might be adequate to more than decent in 2018.

Speaking for myself, I just have to find out. It's too early to anoint Smith anything, but it's too early to close the book on him and declare him and that pick a bust.

I would love that haul, but I don't see Moore and Jewell dropping that far. You are projecting Ragnow as an OG right?

I like Ragnow as a guard in the third and I am a fan of Blanding and Scales. Blanding was actually a top ten recruit nationally out of high school I believe.

I love Blanding, I feel he will be this years Des King.

Extremely productive in all facets in college but didnt put up great testing #s. His instincts will help him transition nicely though.

you lost me at 81 a center? how about Jewel at 81 ? Vea and Moore is a pipe dream but if we got both at 19 and 50 be one happy camper, most likely neither ..4 Lbs no way but im not picking anything outsode of 19 and 50 as the draft cant really unfld until the first 10 picks are taken than things will start to clear..

Ill just say this

19 LB/DT -BAP
50- WR
50

Ragnow also plays guard.

Looney is the backup G/C and we have others on the roster already..if this guy cant start at LG first day 81 still high..many needs to fill first

That's the point, he can and he would. Look up the player, he's played guard before as well as center.
