To the MOON Alice to the Moon!!!!!
When you have as a leader and QB of your offense an infective part you can dress the pig any way you want and it's still a PIG!!!!
I think we should extend Dak next off season for another 4-5 years and average of 55M per year. that would be about right.

sorry, he replaced your Romo, I understand the crush you had. but you know Romo is gone. no sense in keeping anger inside. let it go.

Dak's always right around the top 10 in time to throw among regular starters. He was faster than Hurts, Herbert, Allen, Mahomes, and Jackson last year.

That said, the Dallas passing offense has always looked for long-developing routes, like deep crossers, and steered away from too many quick hitters. He could be right among the league leaders this year if there's a bit of a change in philosophy.
don't forget the 4 WR 10 yard curl routes.....

5 more weeks of this. Then they still will not stop.
I don't even feel sorry for them. I just laugh at them.

well, the pundits say otherwise. according to some he is a loser and he is not starter material in this league.
statically speaking he is somewhere between top 5/10 and rarely do you see any of the rankings out there have him anywhere less than 10-15. Hes good, in certain situations hes great, he has had signature wins and signature losses (unfortunately more of the latter) but he is certainly good enough for the team to win.

I think a lot of people are going to be surprised at how some of the changes make him and our offense look better this year....however if the changes do not help improve and get them to the next level then there are going to be even more people getting off the Dak bus

It will take the whole season and playoffs to truly evaluate the "new" offense and if it is better or worse etc.
Then there is injuries, what if cooks gets hurt early? Better to just wait and watch and dont get your hopes up too high.

It may start out good, then once teams have it on tape, it might slow down, no way to know.
Means absolutely nothing if the Oline cant block. Which is going to be a problem with our starters staying healthy and our lack of depth.

"giving Prescott - renowned for his ability to diagnose defenses pre-snap "

Now that part of the article made me spit out my coffee

420 views 7 months ago #dakprescott #nfl #dallascowboys

Robert Mays of The Athletic Football Show is joined by Ollie Connolly to discuss how the Cowboys' offense matches up against the Packers' defense. Dak Prescott's presnap process and quick decision making evokes shades of... prime Peyton Manning? Robert and Ollie explain why that comparison isn't as crazy as it might seem. …

In 2021 Dak Prescott had a QB rating of 104.2 and a total yardage total of 4,409 yards.

In 2022 Prescott and a ton of offensive line shufflings due to injuries and a lot worse receiver group.

In 2023 his line should be much more solid and his receiver group greatly improved,

Look again...
How is the Oline going to be much more solid?

Steele is coming off a MAJOR injury and wont be 100% to start the year if he even starts. Tyron Smith is an injury waiting to happen. Martin is a year older. Mcgovern has been replaced by some scrub named Chuma which is a perennial backup.

The receiver group I can agree with.

Speed, before and after the snap, will be imperative

One thing that seems quite clear is that McCarthy wants the offense to be faster in 2023. That will manifest in a variety of ways, but most notably being the addition of speedster Brandin Cooks. Similarly, the elevation of the explosive Tony Pollard to the top of the running back depth chart further serves the goal of being faster.

The Cowboys also drafted two highly athletic skill players in Luke Schoonmaker and Deuce Vaughn. While it remains to be seen how big of a role each of these two will play in Year 1, their additions are symptomatic of the new focus on speed. Then there’s Simi Fehoko and Jalen Tolbert, both of whom posted elite Relative Athletic Scores coming out of college, who have gotten off to hot starts so far this offseason.

Dak Prescott is running the show

One of the reasons for getting out of the huddle quicker also has to do with giving Prescott - renowned for his ability to diagnose defenses pre-snap - more time at the line to adjust the call before snapping the ball. This was another thing McCarthy did in Green Bay, with Rodgers frequently making audibles or tweaks at the line of scrimmage based on what he saw. While McCarthy ultimately caught heat for it - with some suggesting that he was a bad play-caller who needed Rodgers to clean up for him - the results on offense were incredible, and it leveraged Rodgers’ football IQ as a weapon against defenses. Now, McCarthy will try to do the same with Prescott.

Player-approved changes

Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer recently mentioned that the tweaks they are implementing on offense gained sign-off approval from veterans like Zack Martin and Tyron Smith, as well as Prescott and Pollard.

Pass protection will look different

Run game overhaul?

Speaking of running backs, the Cowboys are looking to get more efficient results from their run game this year. Schottenheimer has been known as a run-game savant throughout his coaching career, and his time spent with Solari in Seattle provides a common ground for the new approach.

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW IS THAT YOU WILL HAVE A FB AND A TE ON THE FIELD. THAT MEANS DAK IS GOING TO HAVE PROTECTION AND THROW MORE CHECK DOWNS ON 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD DOWNS VERSUS TRYING TO THROW 20 YARDS ON 3RD AND 5. FB, TE, AND HB WELCOME BACK PRO FOOTBALL VERSUS HIGH SCHOOL/COLLEGE CRAP THAT DOES NOT WORK IN THE NFC EAST IN DECEMBER.

Since they've beefed up the defense and added more weapons on offense, are the Cowboys building a team that is less reliant on the quarterback?–Donald Lewis

Nick Eatman:
Well, isn't that the ultimate goal? That's not a dig against Dak or any quarterback. But I think all NFL teams are trying to build a team that can win in a variety of ways. Sometimes, you need your offense to go score points and win. Sometimes, games are more defensive-oriented and you've got to win a game 14-10. But to me, what you're asking is more about this team being well-balanced. And yes, that's the goal. But let me say this about the quarterback. Whether or not he's the best player on the team, there will always be times in games, sometimes at the end of the half and sometimes with the game on the line. But regardless what has happened around him, the quarterback has to put the team on his back and carry them down the field for a late touchdown or field goal. No matter if he's the best player on the team or not, the quarterback is always counted on to lead the team in pressure situations. That hasn't changed in 50 years and probably won't change in the next 50.

Kurt: That's an interesting way to look at the situation. In their effort to make the team more "Dak-friendly" are the Cowboys in turn becoming less reliant on their star quarterback? Perhaps there is some truth to that. I don't think the team wants Dak Prescott to feel like he has to carry the full load on his shoulders and providing a more balanced attack around him and a stout defense that can help clean up any offensive letdowns will definitely help. With that said, in today's NFL every team is still reliant on its quarterback. Sure, a dominant defense will win you some games and an offense boasting of a solid line and playmakers at wide receiver and running back is going to be formidable. But if the quarterback isn't doing his job, even if that's just not turning the ball over, then championship success will be hard to come by. As head coach Mike McCarthy said, "Defense wins championships, but the Super Bowl is won by the quarterback." Meaning, the Cowboys may be just as reliant on Prescott as ever.

After consecutive 12 win seasons and another one around the corner, these are relevant as to talent of Prescott:

In 2021 Dak Prescott had a QB rating of 104.2 and a total yardage total of 4,409 yards.

In 2022 Prescott and a ton of offensive line shufflings due to injuries and a lot worse receiver group.

If Romo, the Cowboy gambler can learn to protect the ball more, so can Prescott who has been nothing but challenged since he was jerked up to start. Step up, Rook!

He is talented and can lead, especially with an increase of running to control the clock and a much tougher defense that will affect field position a lot as well.

His offense will be scoring!

I suggest you get drunk on game days, because alcohol can turn those 10's into 5's. I digress.

Dak certainly has his issues, but I think he does need to get the ball out faster. Hopefully, the routes are crisper, quicker, shorter, so Dak can focus on quick reads and run if it is not open. Dak spends way to much time in the pocket, while the recievers run curl routes all over the field. It didn't help Dak.
He's not gonna have a reasonable discussion with you lol
