Evidence that no one in DC media has any grasp on what's going on

Correct me if I've missed it, but at 6:30 pm CST, I've yet to see any DC beat writer give any insight into the Frazier interview today... and indeed, it doesn't sound like there's even much informed speculation going on about Selah's interview, nor anything more than informed speculation going on about Kellen's interview.

Joneses evidently have it locked down tight... which would explain why there's all this fluff chatter about others who haven't been interviewed, and worse, some of those being guys that could have already been interviewed last week but weren't.

After Jerry publicly castrated the radio guys for asking questions, nobody in the DC media speaks out of turn nowadays.

I was listening to the GBN on 105.3 and those radio guys were literally terrified to even say anything negative about Witten being the "head coach in waiting". They be like, "well it might work he has won championships at the HS level". And then just raido silence as the others were terrified to even talk about the topic.

Dam, when Jerry ripped their balls off, he literally ripped their balls off.................they are just a bunch of beta males at this point willing to say anything to keep getting that paycheck.

If you knew anything about Texas high school football you would realize that Witten's accomplishment is a bit like him taking a pee wee football team to a championship. In Texas all the schools are split into classes - 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A. The major powerhouses are in the 6A class. Witten's school barely qualifies as a 1A.

If that was really said by one of the radio hosts, what I just provided is why it was followed with silence.

Can't help but wonder if they are looking at a college HC. Daks old college HC Dan Mullen? Scary . But what if they are interested in Ryan Day or Marcus Freeman? The local Dallas media does seem afraid to say much. I think Jerry has them de-balled. I don't believe anything being said right now. We still can't rule out Deion or Witten. Heck, Anything is possible. I don't think they give two ***** what Dak thinks or wants. Don't care what they say publicly. They pushed MM out the door. That's all the proof I need that Daks opinion doesn't hold much power anymore.

What those people should do is just go ahead and report the truth. And when Jerry gets them fired just go ahead and sue him and the station.

It was a Rooney interview and everyone knows it.

Not advocating for Mullin but he did win 70% of his games in the SEC. And we could do a lot worse than Day or Freeman. I’d actually love Freeman as it would be an outside of the box hire and show a willingness to change by Jerry.

Day benefits from having more talent than about anyone else he plays. I didn’t like Freeman’s game plan of not using his RBs to run the ball last night.

Agree but does that dilute the core principles of coaching and winning a championship? I don't think it does. For example, you coached your kid's local softball team. They completed the season winning the championship trophy as the best team in the county for their age group. You and your kids are just as much champions as any other regardless of age.
I know it's a huge leap from coaching high school to the NFL....but I think his HOF career as a player gives him a little more of a chance than we think.

BTW......something no one has mentioned. Jerry may bring Witten in under the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program and NO, it's not for minorities only.

https://operations.nfl.com/inside-f...ent/bill-walsh-diversity-coaching-fellowship/

As part of the programs’ evolution, in 2012 the NFL announced the formation of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship Advisory Council, comprised of a distinguished group of NFL coaches and general managers.

Applicants must meet one of the following prerequisites to be considered for the fellowship:

  • Former NFL player
  • Coaching experience at either the high school, college, and/or other football leagues level (CFL, UFL, etc.)

It makes me think that their bosses at the station said knock it off to the Host as Jerry will pull his money as being the flagship station for the Cowboys. It has to be what it is

Just stop. There is literally nothing at any high school level that qualifies one to coach at the NFL level.

You are already trying to make excuses for a hire that will set this team back another 5 to 10 years.

That's because Jerry already knows who he wants to hire. These other interviews are a formality but Jerry wants to make it look like there is serious interest in some of the other candidates. The question is what will he do if his preferred candidates turns him down, like McCarthy did?

I guess Id settle for Shotty over KM. He does command a room. That said, the idea that Dak has power of what the Jones boys do is comical. McCarthy would be here still if Dak pulled any weight.
