I hear ya - but maybe not necessarily since there also has not been any new HC hiring or new DC hiring announcement going around the NFL ..as of right now.
Maybe that comes next week ? McCarthy was asked about Nolan today per 105.3 the fan, and he was evasive as Jerry was, but said how they are going to have evaluate
his coaching staff and go from there, etc. Didn't sound like a pushing vote of confidence from MM as well as Jerry.

And Note how none of the top name hot DC names are still on the board., but I see your point in what da heck are we waiting for, as we could lose out on those top DCs.

Which BTW, frankly it's been 3 DC choices I've really been pondering as a possibility for Cowboys as new DC:
1 Gus Bradley
2 Dan Quinn
3 George Edwards

All 4-3 scheme guys, all 3 have been top 10 DCs at some point in past 10 years; I could be on board with Edwards if he is allowed to bring in his own staff,
that doesn't include. Who knows if any of them are in interview & negotiations with McCarthy and the Cowboys first. o_O
I’m thinking Edwards, should have been inserted mid season. Quinn sounds interesting also. Don’t know much about Bradley! A water hydrant would be preferable to what I saw from Nolan this year. That was atrocious!

Told you guys at the end of last season that he is, was, and always will be hot garbage. He’s a massive liability against the run and was contract hunting last year - he found a bunch of fools in Chicago to offer him a dumb deal.

Wasnt Quinn dead last against the run for us? Stellar pass rusher but thats all he is a third down specialist.

If you don't see the difference between contract year Quinn and 30 million guaranteed Quinn then I don't know what to tell you.
Yup. Playing DE vs playing OLB. Couldn't be any more obvious.

Quinn was never going to be effective without an offense that could get them the lead.

The fact that they play a 3-4 or whatever doesn't matter. They just aren't in enough passrush situations.
Ummmm....it matters a lot. Very strange that you would think it wouldn't. Why would you think that?

We all wanted him back, but that price tag was crazy for a 1 trick pony... It seems for the most part the players we let sign with other teams don't light the world on fire after leaving. At least over the last 2 decades. Hard to think of 1 player that went on to become an allpro or make multiple pro bowls.

The Cowboys normally let the right guys go. That's one thing that fans have to give them.

That guy isn't hot garbage...that's a bit extreme.

Yeah I'll probably say Martellus Bennett is the one guy who played a lot better elsewhere than he did here.....that was a mistake of a pick anyway knowing we had Witten on the team.

If the Cowboys give up on you.......that normally means you're not very good anymore....I Think Vikings got more out of Newman then we could those last years.

Has anyone noticed that ex-Cowboys DE Robert Quinn has only 2 sacks after signing with the Bears for
5 year 70 million with a 30 million guaranteed signing bonus ?

- Struggling mightily in the Bears 3-4 scheme this year, I get the feeling after next year if he gets
similar results, he won't last long with da Bears.

- Some guys just are systematic and cannot play and fit in just any scheme. Some guys are just far
better with their hands on the ground in a 3 point stance , ..than rushing standing up.

- And that's gonna even be critical here ..strongly assuming it's a new DC here with the Cowboys. o_O

Chicago has him listed as an OLB in a 3-4, but often that just mean a situational pass rusher on a 4 man line, and that's all I'd want to use him for. Too late to turn him into a run defender on 1st downs as an OLB. He was just *bad* in run defense for us. What did they have him *doing*?

PFF 60.2. Not horrible, but nowhere near the value to match his cost.

We did right by letting him go. All the "pay da mans" should remember this in this offseason. *We* could have been eating yet another massive dud contract.
