Total overreaction on the judge's part IMO. Sounds like the type of person who's a control freak even outside of the courtroom.

Also seems to be a grand stander who knew this was all being filmed.

It was an overreation but there is a time and place for everything. For him to hit his attorney's backside while they are in front of the judge wasn't right at the time. Should of kept it professional and thanked the attorney in other ways.

Wrong.

You do not cut up in a court room. Period.

This is just another example of an improperly raised idiot who will never learn - not once - from his mistakes.

He'll back in front of a court room before you blink your eyes. They always do.

An admonition would have been fine or community service. My guess is the judge will commute part of the sentence but maybe not

He did not appear to be cutting up in the court room. Total overreaction by the judge. What you said about Johnson is probably correct, but that doesn't mean what the judge did was right.

The Judge asked if he was pleased with his attorney, he gave him a sports-like pat on the butt like "good job." It was innocent, and he meant nothing by it. The Judge overreacted just because other people in the court room kept laughing while she was talking. She should be ashamed of herself.

Considering that people don't get sent to jail for 30 days for things such as domestic abuse, theft and a host of other things, it's the wrong sentence.

I agree that it will likely be commuted, he'll have to apologize in front of the judge and days served will be the end result. Still, seems like a bit of grandstanding on the judge's part to me.

Yeah. She just handed him probation and counseling for slapping the hell out of his wife.

Pat on butt for lawyer? That's 30 days in jail.

Beat wife......punishment is twice weekly meetings. Congratulatory slap on the butt.....punishment is jail.
