Really cool and agree with you it being a natural animal/human instinct in terms of needed contact/acceptance/affection related to either personal or group affiliation. Without it, it seems both human infants and animal cubs,etc. aren't capable of the same emotional attachments and are lacking in efficient neuron production compared to those raised with a nurturing influence.
