Rather you like it or not this offensive scheme is about execution. The same offense since the 90's. Sad fact is our head coach saw this in full effect. The play of our 90's team was both dominant and great at executing the game plan. We did this with great play, great players, and the ability to afford such players without a cap. Rather Jason or Jimmy is a better coach is not even relevant now. The salary cap has changed things in many ways. While I loved the fact you knew what was coming from our 90's team and we still did it to you as a team, was dominate at its very best. Today says we cannot expect the same.

It takes making the most of your weapons and changing your style to make the team better. It takes knowing your limitations and adjusting. It takes not being stubborn in your beliefs and take what is given to you and noticing such, regardless of scheme. Rather you play a safe vanilla scheme or you play explosively in the offense, the outcome really is decided by the result of effective game play after adjusting to what is and isn't working after halftime.

Rather we feel our scheme is outdated or our coaches are outdated do to such, it takes learning from our mistakes. Many have already shown we are poor against new head coaches. Maybe this is a theme. Maybe this is a fact we can't afford all pros at every position. It took Jimmy and a crap load of trades to get new youth he knew coming from college, as well as dealing with zero cap to improve a team with strong free agents. Maybe taking an approach that isn't Jimmy's would be more beneficial. Things have changed since his time.

The game and coaching has changed since then. Maybe one day we will too. Until then I fear the same that the last 20 years has proven. Taking known names like Phillips, Parcells, even our current coach being he learned from Jimmy, has proven we can form a good team that competes with the football schemes of yesterday. Maybe, just maybe, it takes a new look to move forward. This does not mean the head coach needs to be replaced, though I think it does, I think you should allow new coordinators to do their disciplines and be good at what they do while being the one to change things up when something is not working.

What do you think? I'm sure there are many that said such before, and many more since this post. Just hoping one day our record with great ideas from before, gets ditched for a new idealistic scheme that is modern and we move forward. Here's to hoping....

Thanks for reading.

Those hard words...Execution. Its not a death penalty in football. Both the Cowboys and Rams are good teams...only one can win. Should the Rams be executed?? Yes. But its extreme..:);).
