Exhausted year over year?

Perhaps I'm getting old, but am I the only one just exhausted year over year? It's like every season begins with so much hype, so much promise, only to end in heartbreak or mediocrity—rinse and repeat. I'll always be a fan, but maybe I'm getting tired of the NFL as a whole. The endless drama, the officiating controversies, and the constant rollercoaster of emotions are starting to feel more draining than enjoyable. We buy their merchandise every year, shell out for overpriced tickets, and dedicate our Sundays to watching the games, yet it feels like we’re getting less and less in return. How do we get duped every year into thinking this season will be different, only to watch the same story unfold again? Maybe when we finally lose the "America's Team" description, we’ll shed the pressure and distractions that come with it—and start winning where it matters. The fans see what’s wrong with the team year after year, but does the ownership or management? Or are they too caught up in the brand and the profits to make the changes we all know are needed? Sorry for the rant, but sometimes, being a Cowboys fan just feels like an emotional workout with no end in sight.

I hope I'm not the only one.

Based on a lot of fans posting here, I don't think you are alone at all.

30 years is a long time to go without a Super Bowl, especially for a team like the Dallas Cowboys.

When you combine that with the fact the Dallas Cowboys are the world's most valuable sports team year after year despite those failures, and then you see the Jones family go cheap year after year during the off-season, it makes it really hard to be optimistic as a Cowboys fan.

You can love the team, but hate the direction.

I'm not sure if I am exhausted due to the Cowboys as much as NFL overload. I would love to go back to Sunday/Monday only. This last week of 5 out-of six days is too much.
I think this is why I can only watch baseball and basketball a few times a year. I pay more attention to win/loss records to see how my teams are doing and then watch when it matters.

You can love the team and want them to win, but despise the people that own it and want them to lose in embarrassing fashion. My current situation...

What in the world do you think you are owed? Fan points?

Its a league that now runs on REVENUES. Period.

Dak is my man.

Part of the game..disappointed, yes....other than that, excited about next year.

Least invested I have ever been so this year didn't stress me.

When you know it's going to be cluster before it starts, it's easier to accept.
I don't know how anyone could look at this starting offense, and I mean fully healthy, and think they were going to contend this year.

The skill positions need a complete overhaul.

Yea Jerrah and his circus is exhausting every year. This year after the horrible off season I checked out in October for the first time ever. What I mean by check out is I didn't make Sundays must see Cowboys football. If something else came up then I was fine with missing some of the game or all of it and just checking the score. I'm someone who never missed a game no matter what. I'm just exhausted by the Jones boys and the circus.

To your point.. How do you look at losing 7 starters to other teams and a great defensive coach and tell yourself "I think we're good, we just need to spend all that money on one player?"

Exactly. The o-line was bad the year before and then they add two rookies to start. Sign Elliott. Cooks who is past his prime is #2. It was just Lamb that's it. The fact they didn't make a play for Barkley or Henry when they had a huge glaring need at running back or hell any other good free agent running back that produced, that was a kick in the balls. Singing one of those guys could have made this team a playoff team. They need a strong run game with Dak at QB.

Count me among those who love the Dallas Cowboys despite what has happened to this once proud franchise. I loved this team for 25 years before I had ever even heard the name Jerry Jones.

My fondness for the Cowboys is far greater than my disdain for what Jerry’s colossal hubris has done to what used to be the real “America’s Team”. It is now the Jones team. But I refuse to surrender my fandom to these pretenders.
