My kid was born during his first year.. now he's graduating college. That just sunk in.It hit me today that when they hired Parcells, it was only 8 years since the last SB.
It's going on 30 now. The hope of another SB, or even nfccc visit is dead right now to me.
No RB, 1 WR, 1 okay TE and a QB that has to be carried.Exactly. The o-line was bad the year before and then they add two rookies to start. Sign Elliott. Cooks who is past his prime is #2. It was just Lamb that's it. The fact they didn't make a play for Barkley or Henry when they had a huge glaring need at running back or hell any other good free agent running back that produced, that was a kick in the balls. Singing one of those guys could have made this team a playoff team. They need a strong run game with Dak at QB.
I write this with regret but, I notice, that many FANS in this forum have not understood a basic thing: Jerry considers DC ONLY as a business!!!! after Jimmy Johnson's departure, we can no longer talk about SPORT/AMERICA'S TEAM/SUPERBOWL...Perhaps I'm getting old, but am I the only one just exhausted year over year? It's like every season begins with so much hype, so much promise, only to end in heartbreak or mediocrity—rinse and repeat. I'll always be a fan, but maybe I'm getting tired of the NFL as a whole. The endless drama, the officiating controversies, and the constant rollercoaster of emotions are starting to feel more draining than enjoyable. We buy their merchandise every year, shell out for overpriced tickets, and dedicate our Sundays to watching the games, yet it feels like we’re getting less and less in return. How do we get duped every year into thinking this season will be different, only to watch the same story unfold again? Maybe when we finally lose the "America's Team" description, we’ll shed the pressure and distractions that come with it—and start winning where it matters. The fans see what’s wrong with the team year after year, but does the ownership or management? Or are they too caught up in the brand and the profits to make the changes we all know are needed? Sorry for the rant, but sometimes, being a Cowboys fan just feels like an emotional workout with no end in sight.
I hope I'm not the only one.
"Excited" isn't the right word for me. "Hopeful" or "cautiously optimistic" is probably closer.Part of the game..disappointed, yes....other than that, excited about next year.
That's easy...just drink a lot of Johnny Walker Blue.To your point.. How do you look at losing 7 starters to other teams and a great defensive coach and tell yourself "I think we're good, we just need to spend all that money on one player?"
I don't think that's true. Watching him in the booth, you can tell he wants to win, and gets excited when good things happen for the team. The problem is that he only wants to win if he gets most of the credit.I write this with regret but, I notice, that many FANS in this forum have not understood a basic thing: Jerry considers DC ONLY as a business!!!! after Jimmy Johnson's departure, we can no longer talk about SPORT/AMERICA'S TEAM/SUPERBOWL...
If you were in a bad marriage where you were constantly verbally and physically abused what would you do? You would get out! Start playing FF it will open your eyes to the great players that aren't Cowboys. Cowboys are the most overhyped trash team in the NFL. They should have a steaming pile of crap on the side of their helmet.Perhaps I'm getting old, but am I the only one just exhausted year over year? Any time there is hope, there is excitement. As a long time, fan, player, coach, etc...you can't ever quit before a season...if you do, you may as well not show up."Excited" isn't the right word for me. "Hopeful" or "cautiously optimistic" is probably closer.
