Season 2025 will be a repeat of the 2024 season.

Dallas has already burned their 4th rd picks with Mingo who has shown nothing. Just as Dallas threw away their 4th rd pick with Trey Lance.

Several Cowboys players will be purged and those players will be happy to get out of this circus. Then after two weeks, when the roster was purged as last season, the Cowboys will wait two weeks, to wait for players that other teams do not want and/or players who are definitely on the downside but want to just make a team.
Dallas doesn't have enough draft picks so Stephen will look for the bargains out of necessity to fill out his roster after more players leave for greener pastures.
Jerry signing up these washed up players then selling to the fans, "this team has talent to make a run"

Then a few more weeks later, we enter the 2025 draft. Instead of a higher pick, Dallas won meaningless games to get a draft pick in the later teens. And with so many holes to fill, taking the 4th/5th at their greatest need ( like Tyler Guyton) will be selected., Jerry will pick up the phone and like a car salesman,
Jerry will deliver his sales pitch to his 1st round pick:
"You are a Dallas Cowboys". That player will immediately be happy to be drafted by ANY team ( his dream of making the NFL has been accomplished)
but after reality sets in, knowing this team--Dallas, will not see a NFC Conference game. But this player is entering the circus and
will still be thrilled because he will be popular.
After the draft scenario, the draft grading and player interview where they will say all the cliches, as like the past 2 drafts,
Cowboys fans buying more pyrite by their salesman, will again be filled with hope and optimism

Again, the Cowboys fans will be so happy and Superbowl dreams will, again be 'born again' in the starving fan base.

What are they going to do with the 100 million in cap space they are raising?

I look at the Cowboys and try to imagine a team without injuries.

On defense, the Cowboys had DPOY candidate Micah Parsons and Demarcus Lawrence, who was playing at a Pro Bowl level at the start of the season. His numbers expanded to double digit sacks, QB hits and tackles for a loss for a full season.

The Backup were Sam Williams and rookie Marshawn Kneeland, both 2nd round draft picks with high expectations.

It is unimaginable to think that the Cowboys would have lost all four of these guys by the end of the 4th game. However, it did happen

This was supposed to be an exciting season for our starting CBs. Both had experienced monster years in which they led the league in INT's. We imagined passes being defended by two former 1st team All Pro's. The slot CB, Jordan Lewis was playing the best football of a career in its late stage.

We have yet to see Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland on the field at the same time this season.

On defense, the injuries couldn't have been more devastating. The two greatest playmakers, Parsons and Bland, have missed a significant number of games.

It also has to be recognized that, although both Diggs and Bland were cleared to play, they obviously had not returned to their previous level of play. That was going to take a little more time and I think Diggs is just about there.

I just want everyone to imagine this defense at full strength. You know the other team's quarterbacks are running for their lives with our DE's hunting them down. You know opposing QBs are going to make mistakes. You know our CB's are going to make them pay for those mistakes.

Amidst all this, throw in the revamped, much improved LBs. Those QBs just lucky enough to evade Micah start heading downfield only to be met at the line by Overshown.

With Micah and D-Law on the field, how many double teams do you think the interior D-linemen would have seen? Elite talent has a geometric effect. Productivity is increased in two ways, the contribution of an elite talent and the additional productivity created by inspired teammates.

I would have loved to have seen that defense this season. It was the defense the Cowboys were supposed to have.

If the Cowboys have that defense in 2025 then the OP's premise is somewhat unrealistic.

Didn't we get embarrassed by a poor new orleans team in week 2 with all those players on the field?

Lol I think you're on to something lol about the rookie's excitement to be a cowboy, and knowing that "this is a WINNING franchise (they all say that lol) I guess because of the 5 rings, or nothing else better to say/robotic), he'll be popular you're leaving out that HE WON'T START WITH THE FIRST TEAM in practices, he'll stupidly have to (earn the star) by being on the 3rd team and will be elevated come the start of the season

That happened.... but some members have short memories and want to blame the entire season on injuries, forgetting the games those players played in and sucked.
Easily one of your better posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
