Expect Cowboys To Look For A QB On Day 3

I'd wait for the 5th. I think they'll still be there. At the moment there is a glut at the QB position and little need throughout the league.

didnt a grandson get drafted last year, Herb Adderleys or some old Cowboy?

So that guy is Tony Easons son, I didnt know that, I remember him being drafted too
They’re not related, actually. I’m not sure how many grandsons have made it to the NFL...

As Day 3 of the 2020 NFL draft commences, quarterback becomes a position to watch for coach Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys.

It has nothing to do with
Dak Prescott's future or the seemingly forever contract negotiations between the quarterback's agent and the organization.

It has everything to do with McCarthy and maybe a little to do with the backup situation with
Cooper Rush entering the final year of his contract.

I'd take an offensive lineman as well.

this draft is all WillM.

coach MM is not in charge of player personnel. I’m sure he has input.

Eason to me has the highest potential arm wise. Iirc he's had a new oc every year playing iirc.

That being said he's a pocket QB only
That is what I want. Brady, Manning, Brees, etc are pocket passers and they are some of the best to play the game.

I was hoping they would pick Jalen Hurt but the Eagles got him. I'm not sure who else is still available that is any good.
Yea.. I thought Eason or Fromm might have been an upgrade from Rush. That’s basically what we’re looking for at this part of the draft. Hurts would have been too strong a pick for a backup.

I suspect Egirls have more plans for him than riding the bench waiting for Wentz to go down. I could see them integrating into their regular scheme in certain situations like Redzone utilizing his mobility and running ability. Plus have real talent in case Wentz does get hurt.

And it looks like we might look to pursue an old released veteran out there for backup. Like Dalton for example.

Perkins and Montez are still available.

McDonald as well but his long delivery needs work.

Well we got a QB in the 7th so mission accomplished.

The Dak haters will be starting threads that this dude should be starting, you guys know its coming:laugh:

That would be totally ridiculous. A 7th round no-name pick from a Div 2 school will be challenged just to make the team much less threaten Prescott.

The connection and familiarity with McCarthy was only reason he was selected.

We might still look to a veteran for a backup. We’ve been very fortunate Dak hasn’t been hurt. We should have a better contingency plan in place in the event. Otherwise our season would be over.
