Sure there is. Look at the 2009 draft. That's what happens when you draft for depth. I have no problem drafting a LB early but it wouldn't be to just be a back up. I look for starters. We need a starter at the Sam

The difference between now and 2009 is that in 09 they drafted for depth on purpose. Now you can draft guys you think can start and then have them step in when their time comes. Big difference.

Yes I'm assuming we let carter go. The guy has been pointless no reason to resign. We could find a rookie to start at SOLB.

Look at the free agents we have next year.
Dez, Murrey, and McClain. No way we should bring Carter back.

We need to find another DE that can get to the QB. Also need a true FS and OL. Leary is terrible and Free is also a free agent and will be over 30.
Finding starters at those positions are much more important than some back up WOLB or QB. The cap has Romo and Lee here for years no matter what.
