I keep reading people say "I really hope _____ plays so they don't have an excuse when we beat them!"

Well . . . who is "they"?

Are you talking to rival fans?

Are you really concerned about Brian Dawkins getting on Sports Center and saying "Yeah, we lost . . . but its 'cause we didn't have Westbrook!!!".

I don't get it . . .

I root for wins, and I'll take any competive advantage we can get.

The game is about injuries. Thats why there are 53 players on a team, and not just 11 offensive, 11 defensive, and 3 special teamers.

They are referring to eagles fans of course. I will say no one has ever cried over a Dallas player being injured and they never postponed a game because of a Cowboy injury we had to deal with it so I don't care if the team we are facing has an injury or not.

in fact, I leave money under my pillow for the Superbowl Fairy to use to break all Eagles legs.

Or a Horse Head in their bed, would be ok too (a fake one. I like horses)

Thank you.

Well said. I agree 100%

Last year when Flo went down, I'm sure nobody in the NFC East said, "Darn, now they'll have an excuse when they can protect Bledsoe. "

No, we couldn't protect Bledsoe because we didn't have enough depth, and thats what great teams aquire....DEPTH.

Lesser teams make excuse's. Great coaching can get you through injuries with great game planning and through exploiting matchup problems.

I hope Stallworth and Westbrook miss this weekends game. Every win is precious, especially when all four teams in thsi division are really good teams. Every advantage helps.

Now if Reid can game plan and exploit holes in our defense.....hats off to him, because he then has out coached Bill Parcell's.

Coaches get paid to coach up 53 players, not 22. Better prepared teams can overcome injuries to key players.

I hate the eagles, and I'm trying to stay positive, but I think Philly is good enough to make up for injuries to Westbrook and Stallworth(who, imo, isn't great to begin with).

Close game coming up, even with key injuries and a short week for Philly.

Exactly . . .

If it'll help us out, then they can have all the excuses in the world.

I'll take the "W" . . .

Okay...but let me ask you a question. What if the Cowboys could win either way? In other words, what if Dallas could beat Philly when they're playing at full strength but they don't beat them by quite as much. Wouldn't that type of victory do more for the Cowboys confidence then say a blowout by the 'Boys over the eaglets who are playing without a few of their star players on that particular day? Which method of winning would you choose?

As far as I'm concerned, you won't have to look any further than the Cowboys blowout over the Commanders this season to find your answer. Skins fans keep constantly using Porter's injury (that prevented him from playing) as the reason for that loss. There are even a few Cowboy fans (myself included) that wondered openly how well we would have actually played against them had Porter played in that Week 2 game.

For me, I prefer not having any doubts about the outcome of any game the Cowboys play in. If Dallas can't beat Philly when they're at full strength, then I want to find this out now so that they can work on improving rather than go into the post-season with inflated egos because they had already beaten a depleted eaglets team earlier in the regular season.

This really has more to do with my own peace of mind rather than what fans of our rival teams may think because no matter how badly we might beat them, their fans will always find some type of excuse for the loss.

It's time that we, as Cowboy fans, know how our team stacks up against other NFL powerhouses. Straight up and with no excuses left on the table.

Who gives a crap if a fan uses an excuse.

Ever been to Extremeskins? They come up with an excuse for everything. Most of the time its the Refs fault.

I could care less what they say.

I'll take the W.

And its week 4. We still have dates with both of those teams late in the season. In which they could be full of health, or not. either way, i really could care less, because at the end of the day. THe Commanders beat us 35-7 without our Starting Lt, and a rookie RT, and all kind of LB injuries, not to mention, a weakened CB. But that didnt stop them from winning in the postseason. This is not week 16 battle royal all for the title game. Its a week 4 matchup thats getting blown out of porportion. I saw who cares who is playing for the eagles. As long as we come out with no injuries, more rythm offensivle and defenseivly, and a W

Well said Dreag. I like to know we can beat teams at full strength. I expect to blow teams out missing key players. Kind of the way we payed the price when Jones did't think Emmitt deserved more money. The point was proven.
