Explain to me why we would want the Eagles to win?

I am stating it as fact.

I dunno:

Dallas beats SD - very possible
Dallas beats NO - possible
Dallas beats Wash - very possible
Dallas loses to Phili - possible

NY beats Philly - possible
NY beats Wash - possible
NY beats Carolina - possible
NY beats Minnesota - possible (maybe very much so depending on how things go)

Philly beats SF - very possible
Philly beats Den - possible

NY wins the division with a 5-1 division record
Philly gets the WC with a 4-2 division record
Dallas is 3rd in the division (3-3 division record), and misses the playoffs if GB wins 3 of 4 against Chicago, Pittsburgh, Seattle, and AZ.

None of that seems extremely far fetched, though I would be very surprised if it all happened. It's certainly more than a 0% chance though, that's for sure.

We control our own destiny when it comes to the Eagles. If we somehow fall into a tie with the Giants, they get the nod. So, the Giants need to lose.

Bottom line, we get into the play offs, we DESERVE to get in regardless.

Look at last year, the Cardinal s lost it all in december if I remember correctly and they made it to the playoffs and took it to the end with the Steelres.

I can'tstand this "We don't deserve to get into the playoffs if..." Give me a break.

Another stupid thread? I'm going to say this one more time

The cowboys game is at 4pm and the eagles/giants play at 8pm. So since that is the case why start this thread now and the Cowboys haven't beaten the Chargers yet? If the Chargers beat us tomorrow then this question is irrelevant.

I guessed we missed the memo stating that the internet was off limits for speculative sports conjecture. Somebody better let Mel Kiper Jr. know his mock drafts are now verboten.

After playing around with the yahoo playoff scenario site, I think win or lose today, I think we should root for the Giants tonight. There are more good scenarios that way.

You speculate when it's the right time. Chargers beating the Cowboys again would make this a pointless question.
