Extend A. Woods DT?

Woods seems to be the DT we have been missing for some time. He is on a bargain bin contract and I think we have one more year of cheap labor with him.

We may be able to extend him cheaply for another year or two. How would you guys feel about extending him on a reasonable contract?

Tough financial decisions looming. I'm sure the fo wants to keep him. Seems he really likes it in Dallas.

He is under contract for 2019.

Since he entered the league as an Undrafted Free Agent, I believe we will be able to place a 1st or 2nd round tender in 2020 to have him relatively cheap for another year. Unless a team really wants him and sign him to a deal and we would receive the designated pick in exchange.

Similar to situations with Ron Leary and even David Irving this past offseason

I don't see a benefit in extending him anytime soon.

Love his play though. He has been an absolute diamond in the rough for us.

Been very impressed with him and think it's probably a great idea. He's helped make Irving being gone almost irrelevant which I can't believe....dude makes plays not quite there yet but he's young enough to improve. Something we've missed at 1tech.

I would be okay if the franchise would realize that the interior of the defensive line can not consistently be filled with NFL cast offs. We can't always be lucky, we need to be aggressive in acquiring disruptive personal in the middle of our defensive line. No QB. likes pressure up the middle.

I wouldn't mind an extension if they could add a year or two affordably, but I'd be just as happy letting it play out and adding a guy in rounds 2-4 if the right one is there. That's a spot where you can usually find value in the draft.

Yes. I know. Which means we get at least one more cheap year out of him. But he's not really an established player, so he would probably extend pretty reasonably. We will have a ton of free agents next year.

this guy has made a huge difference for us, we don't get run over now. He's a long term keeper!

Terrell McClain player both 1 and 3, but he was a fairly decent find, too.

You got him for next year and these guys are a dime a dozen. No need to extend average players, we've been burned too many times on that.
