he is going to demand more after maybe this season or next season. He keeps playing like this. He is basically our only legit number 1. But we probably could wait til after next season but then he might cost more idk.

I suspect he is already nearing the point where he'll garner a Larry Fitzgerald/Andre Johnson contract -- whether or not they extend him tomorrow, or during the 2013 or 2014 seasons.

If you believe that, then there is no reason to hurry to extend him.

Exactly. His value is pretty much already set -- the cost per year will be the same whenever you extend him. Might as well wait to near the end and use the money to invest in other positions.

I'm not one to say we "need" to get rid of him, I would say that I would be interested in what he would bring on the open market. I know he had a down season but if he were to bring a 1st and say a 3rd, I could be persuaded to say go for it. However I'm not sure on how his contract is structured, how much longer he has on contract and if any team values him this much, anything less than this and I would say he's more useful to keep.
