Extend Gregory now

You should care. He isn't going anywhere for two years and that status gives the club leverage for a favorable deal. That being said there is no rush to sign him.
If he blows up over the next 2 seasons he becomes a massive contract albatross. Roll the dice now and save 10s of millions in cap space.

Him and DLaw. Get it done. 5 years each and you will have the best pass rush duo in the league for... well, 5 years I guess. Seriously though, Gregory is about to explode on the scene and I'm sure I'm not the only one that sees it.

Get.
It.
Done.
No no no... We need to cut him. I've read that 1000000 times here.

Plus, he's under sized ya know!

I may have just not seen it, but one thing I like about Randy, is that he doesn't seem to get to fired up ever. Big plays, penalty's, bad plays, he just does his job

I used to hate on Randy, but I gotta say...he’s good. He’s a real good player

Your daily reminder that Gregory had no real preseason to prepare and no coaching or team conditioning for two years before this year. Get him fully integrated into the season and with 100% knowledge of the plays and you have double digit sacks for as long as he plays in the NFL.

i would not sign him to anything that isn't incentive base. It really sucks this country is massively archaic when it comes to weed but it is what it is

Yep Gregory will have a 14 + sack season in "19" dude is a volcano and will erupt for years....great motor and desire!!!

Incentive. Laden.

I believe a suspension wipes out guaranteed money.

We could sign him to a 1 year, 100 million dollar contract guaranteed and he won’t get a dime if he’s suspended.

Regardless, I’m not sure how it works but I don’t think he is even eligible for an extension until after next year. Next year will be “technically” his 3rd season and you aren’t eligible for an extension until after 3.

What would you offer him?

I think the best option is to give him a first or original round tender and use the same leverage we have now next year. Now if he is willing to take a sweetheart deal like 3/$18m a la Barry Church or Jay Ratliff then sign me up.

Given his issues giving him a $10+m check is not wise.

Didn't the suspension{s} nullify years occurred?

Isn't he on yr 3 of his rook deal with that in mind?

OverTheCap has him as RFA in 2020. Only two accrued seasons, including this year.

Jeez, feels like it's been a lot longer. That sucks. Would be a nice thing if we could lock him up before next season on the cheap.

Iffy on both sides.

I doubt his manager wants him to get locked up. I don't think we should trust him to keep making the field.

With top players, I think Jerry just pays the market to avoid holdouts.

The guys you can have success with are the backups and role players who you think should get more time and you got another year on their contracts. That's where you have leverage.

Heath. Church. Beasley.

Maybe Ross? Woods? They've outplayed their contracts, which are rookie minimum level. Maybe they'd like to lock in some money.

I do want them to sign Austin. Showing faith in an injured guy is a good way to get a deal locked in.
