Extend Gregory now

I think he is doing well, but I don’t see dominance or even the dramatic, must sign to extension now kind of performance people are talking about. Heck, he won’t even be an inresztricted free agent for 2 more years. Why the rush.
Admittedly I didn't realize there was still 2 years left until he hit RFA status...feels like he's been here a lot longer. I simply feel that he's on the verge of exploding so it would be better and cheaper to lock him down before that happens.

This is a lot of love for a guy that only had 6 sacks in 2018.
6 sacks for a guy who hasn't had the benefit of being in a pro weight training program for 2 years. If he'll get with say Conner Williams and a trainer to keep focused and spend the offseason working on his functional strength he has the potential to to be really good. Dont believe idle time is going to be his friend!

Yeah, I’m not worried about protecting the team. Easy to do simply by limiting the bonus. My response is to the suggestion that he will be dominant for the next five years. Gregory is day to day for the rest of his career.
He's certainly earned your skepticism regarding the substance abuse stuff but right now I think he has clearly turned the corner as a player.

No question. Let’s hope for his sake, and ours, he can stay on the straight and narrow.

Gregory has turned from a guy that you hoped would be good but thought he would "irving" us, into a solid contributor with the capacity to be REALLY good....I was never down on the guy, just biding my time hoping....hope is paying off in this case

I agree
I think he has two years left but his is hard to figure out
If you sign him you do somewhat paid as you go with injury protection
Not just to protect the team but to be honest anyone with an addiction problem really doesn’t need his whole life’s income over a few years
I would a structure that helps protect him from himself
Eventually he’s not gonna be a player but those demons will still be there
I’d like to structure something to protect him top

Gregory played very well last night.

Refs also missed a huge holding call on him on that big 4th down throw Russ hit.

Absolutely, but it’s baby steps. Baby steps
Careful now, I'm being told that once you've been critical or unsupportive of a player you're not allowed to enjoy it when they play well. Also, you aren't a "really real fan since you were born" or whatever.

Yes...I was also told that once you have an opinion on any subject, that you absolutely not allowed to change your mind.:laugh::laugh:

I was harder on Randy than anyone ......... the kid has come back played like a probowler and shut my *** up.

But I would not give him an extension till I had too ....... kid is one bad weekend away from a permanent NFL Suspension.

But Damn the kid is playing his butt off .......... He has won me over on the field.

Trouty and a lot of others was right ........ kid is a unique talent.

He’s been with the team long enough that he normally wouldn’t have 2 years, but the suspension time doesn’t count toward his years of service.

.

I get that there may be a chance to build some, but some here are acting as if he’s already there and proven to be a top player. I personally don’t think he’s proven that yet.

The second half of this season he has been just short of outstanding. Hes never gotten that offseason in a pro weight training program where rookies usually put on 10 to 15 pounds of muscle before their 2nd season. He needs to focus on that to help keep himself occupied. If he does the pass rush should be stellar next year!
