not sure if this has been mentioned but the Cowboys have 3 games in which they will have extra preperation time for.

they have 11 days between week 1 and 2

they have the bye leading into week 6

and of course the extra days leading into the first December game

im sure to other teams this is looked at as an advantage for the Cowboys

They have to play the first game of the season before any other teams other than the home team Giants.

They have to play the first game on a Wednesday of all days.

They play their first game on the road against a division rival.

They have a short week where they play a game against a division rival 4 days after the previous game.

The play 3 night games this season on NBC where they have not won in forever.

They play their last game on the road against a division rival.

.. perspective .. adaptable as needed.

I'm not thrilled about that whole scenario, but I'm willing to bet that many of the players are anxious to get a shot at the Giants early and wash some of the taste out of their mouths in a big way.

As do the Commanders, and they have to travel. I'll take our position on that week over theirs.

That's on the Cowboys not the NFL. Cowboys Sunday Night games have been some of the most watched regular season games in the history of the NFL. The NFL would be stupid not to maximize those opportunities.

Every team plays a division rival for their last game. It does suck that we, again, have to finish on the road. Our schedule was going to be tough regardless of how it was actually scheduled. We play some tough teams and a brutal stretch of only 3 of our first 9 games at home. I will say that if we fare well during that stretch (say 6-3) then I REALLY like our chances this season. We'll have been road tested to the max and ready to make a late season run.

As you inferred, it's all about perspective I suppose.

Watch. We'll be stupid enough to only win one of those games.

In 2011 we lost on extra prep time at Arizona, 2010 we won at Indy, 2009 we lost at New York, 2008 lost at Pittsburgh, 2007 stuck one out at Detroit and same for 2006 at New York. I think the advantage there is overstated.
