Go easy on the boy...soon he will tuck his tail between his legs and go back crying to the ES fools telling them how mean the big, bad, Cowboys are to him!

Of course I am, you invited me to.

Actually, I didn't. Some idiot did. But I do rather enjoy these verbal bouts.

Hostile;1753733 said:
You forget that already? That Sierra Vista fog has you all goofed up.

LMAO

Could be worse, I could have gone to school here. Sorry, I meant, gone to the pregnancy and drug clinic they call Buena HS.

Hostile;1753733 said:
So, what you are saying is you have no objection or comeback whatsoever for anyone who reminds you about 15 of the last 18 head to head games? You never once tried to remind anyone about just 2005 right?

2005 has nothing to do with it at this point though (but if they want to bring up 15 out of 18, I'll respond), the only thing that matters when talking head to head is the 2006 season now, where we split, each team taking the home game. Then, in the second game, the only game that will have mattered is week 11. In the NFL, it pays to have a short memory.

Hostile;1753733 said:
Come on man, don't try and con me.

If you say so. This isn't even interesting.

Ritalin works. Well it doesn't but worth a... oh look, a bird!

Hostile;1753733 said:
Sure. I'm not a dunce. Will you acknowledge that we were not in the NFL in 1937 and 1942 and that it had nothing whatsoever to do with the head to head rivalry?

Yes, but if you want to mention head-to-head rivalries, why bring up super bowls then? Or playoff wins/berths? None of that matters. The only thing that does matter is 55-36-2 and 2-0.

Hostile;1753733 said:
Better job of explaining it.

Let me put this to you this way. I don't care about that stat and not because of the fact it looks better for your team.

If you ask me if I would be okay with losing more Super Bowls if it meant we also were the first team to 6 or 7, I would tell you that I would be okay with that in a heartbeat. To me, that is the goal. To get there and then win it. To have the most.

I'm sure it is, so why mention playoff victories and super bowl appearance then? After all, you don't care, right?

Hostile;1753733 said:
It cracks me up that there are people who deny this is relevant. I hate the Yankees, but you know what? It matters that they have more World Series wins than any other team. I hate the Boston Celtics. Same thing. I am not a fans of the Montreal Canadiens. Same thing.

When the 49ers got to 5 before we did, it ate at me. It eats at me that they have never lost one. If I were a 49ers fan though I can promise you that I would lose 4 more if it meant I got 6 before anyone else. It eats at me that Pittsburgh has a 5th.

I take great joy in reminding Eagles fans that they have zero. You know what's funny? Skins fans do that too. I've seen it so many times over at ES. By doing that do you know what you are doing? Ignoring their 3 NFL CHampionships in 1948, 1949, and 1960. The same thing you gripe about me doing by ignoring 1937 and 1942.

It's just too fun to remind them of that! The only team that beats them for championship futility is the Cardinals, and of that I remind them constantly.

Hostile;1753733 said:
You know what the big difference is between you and me in doing that? My team wasn't in existence when those games were played but yours was.

Wasn't yours in existence in 60?

Hostile;1753733 said:
Not sure why this matters to you. Yes.

It doesn't, I just had to know if I was correct in adding (playoff) games to the total, so as not to redo all the work.

Hostile;1753733 said:
We didn't play you in the 1987 post season. So the claim you made never happened.

Can you acknowledge that?

You're right, never happened. I already said, you know what, I misread, and my fault. My bad. I'm sorry. Excuse my ineptitude. Pardon my bout of incompetence. Did I acknowledge this enough yet?

I disagree with this. Division titles matter. Conference Championships matter. Super Bowl titles matter.

Seee my response above. Fits perfectly with this question too.

The point is, if their NFL Championships don't matter, then yours don't either. Funny how that recognition you so desperately want me to give isn't given to them.

I will openly admit, I put more value on Super Bowls than I do NFL Championships, and not because we don't have any. I'd feel the same way even if we had won the Ice Bowl and had our own NFL Championship.

Firehawk350 said:

Yes, it was. My bad.

Let me tell you something about that 1960 team. The Cowboys were not allowed to draft any players. They had to build their squad by choosing 3 players from each of the other 12 teams after those teams froze 25 players of their own choice. More incredibly they had 24 hours to make these 36 selections after given a list of players they couldn't touch.

To my knowledge, no other expansion franchise was handcuffed in the same way. Yet that team of castoffs had 7 guys who were either an All Pro or made the Pro Bowl at least once in their career. Impressive huh?

Not really. I wanted the $1000.00 but you backpedaled too fast to give me a shot at that.

Do they matter in the context of a rivalry? Do you think Prefountaine cared how many that german guy (name escapes me) won before he raced him? Or when he challenged him (and got refused)? Nope, just cared if he could beat him then and there.

I recognize those championships. I do. That still doesn't excuse not winning a lombardi though, nor does it excuse being as inept as the Cardinals.

I would have been proud if my team won the ice bowl. That was a cool game, for no other reason than everybody knows about it. Wasn't that Super Bowl II though?

I bet George Allen put in that clause. I've never heard of that in my entire life, but it is impressive.

Uhhhh, no! All Super Bowls consists of AFC/NFC teams (AFL/NFL before the merger)! If I'm not mistaken, the Packers & Chiefs played in the first two Super Bowls!

edit-I did my homework and the Raiders actually represented the AFL in SB II, not KC.

In my mind, yes it does and I already addressed this. How many World Series did the Yankees win over the Red Sox? None, zero, zip, nada. IMO, and again I hate them, that is relevant to their rivalry. Boston has won 2 in the last 4 years. Impressive. No doubt about it. The Yankees have still won 26 of those suckers. Don't tell me that doesn't piss the Red Sox off. Baloney. They may not want to hear it, but guess what? The reality is that stuff matters.

It isn't about excusing it though.

Not quite. We're both a bit off here. The Ice Bowl was the game before the Super Bowl.

How Landry turned that squad into the team he did as fast as he did is a mystery to me. Well, not entirely. Wasn't George Allen though. In 1960 I think he was still with the Bears as an Assistant.

Packers over Chiefs in SB I, Packers over Raiders in SB II.

Naw, it's just that I've been there... made a road trip from Heidelberg one time, hitting antique stores... my Dad was collecting antique clocks, and wanted to find a good French mantle clock... I still have that sucker, he paid like 100 bucks for it, and it was just appraised at 7500...

I also have a wall clock, a regulator, that has been appraised at 2500 bucks... it's a Becker Gold Medallion, a special edition meant for trade expos and palaces made by Gustav Becker, Germany's most famous clockmaker back in the mid-1800s... and I have a really, really old Grandfather's clock that I want to get appraised, I believe it's something over 300 years old...

Anyway, I digress; we went down as far as Verdun on our search that day... went past one of the oldest medeival castles in Europe, in the town of B*tch (I swear, I'm not making that up, it's pronounced "beach")...

Didn't find what we were looking for, it was a few months later that we found the one I have today in a shop right there in Heidelberg where we were living... so about the only thing we accomplished was to get my high school French insulted a couple-three times that day... what they say about the French being really, really rude is nothing but God's own truth... fortunately for us, most of the folks we ran across that day spoke German just fine, so my Dad was able to communicate with them...

cool ****, man, when I was living in Italy, my dad and his co-worker took me to Normandy, saw all the beaches, I wanted to see how it was on Omaha, but unfortunately most of the beach has receded, and most of the Atlantic Wall fortifications are gone, I got up on Point Du Hoc, how those Rangers made it up that cliff face at all is unbelievable

the coolest part of the trip was on either June or Gold beach, they still had 1 of the giant harbour thingamajigs, the boats that they placed right off the beach, that they used immediately after the landings, those Brits are imaginative people
