Elliott is on the tail end of his career and spent the past season with the New England Patriots, but he is eager to help in Big D. Zeke, who is still loved by the fans, discussed why he decided to return to Dallas and his goals for the upcoming season.

It comes down to one thing: unfinished business.

"I think it was important for me to come back because I had unfinished business," Elliott said, via DallasCowboys.com "I felt like I wanted to come back and be with my guys and take another spin at it."

Zeke isn't fleecing the team this time. He plays hard and is a great blocker. Yeah, he's lost a step but since there were all sorts of needs all over the team during the draft, it's not as if we had a plethora of less expensive options. The RB goes as the O-line goes more often than not and Zeke can block too. Will we get explosiveness from him? Doubtful but adding him to the stable couldn't hurt. It's not like we're getting to the SB this year with Dak under center anyway.
Look bro...if you want to be part of The Kool Kids Klub...really in the know...you'll have to write some something negative or make a joke or preferably both.

:)

Damn! Zeke isn't getting much love, in this thread. If he is motivated to be better then I welcome him back.
Zeke hired to score TDs and make 1st downs.

Something Tony couldn’t do.

That’s why they are so butt hurt.

It’s pretty much a lock he’ll be done with the Cowboys after this season and likely the NFL. However, if he were to have a pretty good season someone could bring him in next year.
RB is more than ypa.

TDS and 1st downs count.

Dallas is purchasing 10 TDs with Zeke.

55 1st downs.

Assuming I'm right in that he was brought back mainly for his blocking (my opinion), I would think that was done so that Guyton and Beebe could get a year's experience and the o-line would develop enough so that either Dowdle or maybe a rookie running back would be able to do enough for Dallas to have a solid running game that doesn't need a Barkley or Zeke (in their prime) level back. Also, they could see if Steele would do better after another year to recover from the acl tear, and maybe sign a RT to replace Martin if he retires.

In other words Zeke is a patch to get them through this year.

Could also be that Jerry is just being nice to Zeke, getting him a final decent payday to send him off into retirement. Jerry does have a soft spot for players, he brought back Witten for a year even though it was pretty clear Witten wasn't anywhere near the player he was in his glory days, for example.

Post of the morning!!!!!!!!!! Oh and i'm sure his best bud Dak lobbied for him to be here as a part of him signing a deal to stay here!! lol
This doesn't make much sense given that Dak hasn't made a deal with the Cowboys.

Well Dak's under contract for this year, haven't seen much that would indicate he isn't going to play this year, so if Zeke's on a 1 year deal that's all they need him for....
