Ezekiel Elliott?

Not a deeply researched thought, but where is Ezekiel Elliot? Why hasn't he shown up with the first team offense? I am not suggesting any vast conspiracy, however, I just find it odd that he hasn't played a down yet. It would be understandable if the team didn't know what they had in Smith, but that is not the case here.

Perhaps someone has already addressed this and, if so, I must have missed it.

Fair assessment. Given the level experience at back-up QB, I would think that if anyone needs "protecting" it would be Dak.

He's sitting because Jerry told Garrett that he can't use the "Zeke's not playing" excuse for a bad record this year and wants to save him for the regular season. Unfortunately, JJ didn't plan on JG playing our starting OLine the whole first half and didn't put a "Martin's not playing" excuse into his ultimatum for Garrett. So, now JG has an excuse for why we'll stink this year. Dang you, Jerry!

He plays game 3 of the preseason. Sits the rest. For safety and protection. Which is really what the preseason is all about. Let them know you care. Protect them from life.
