I'd like to stay away from the Vernon types in free agency. With all of the cap room out there he's going to get paid way too much

The only thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is JSmith.
But there may be severely bad news about his knee.

Wentz makes the draft a home run.
Explian why VButler fits please.

The question wasn't to me, but how does Butler NOT fit? Let me guess, you don't like him because he ran a slow 40 time?

Don't think Shepard will last until 4th, but love the Jakeem get. After his proday I think he goes higher actually.

My question is reflected toward Marinellie who sets the tone for the 1tach DT
I got no dog in the fight

And my question remains...how is Butler not a fit? Have you watched game footage of him? Hell, even just reading a simple scouting report should tell you he fits just fine.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1999382/vernon-butler
"Short-area quickness and lateral range to work up and down the line of scrimmage and sidestep blocks"
"He was almost unblockable at times during Senior Bowl practices, showing an exciting combination of initial quickness, balance and a refined swim move"
"Plays with energy and shows the same intensity in the fourth quarter as the opening drive. Consistent competitor with a strong football appetite."

http://www.nfl.com/draft/2016/profiles/vernon-butler?id=2555243
"Excellent athleticism. Can make plays all along the line of scrimmage"
"Able to coordinate hands and feet smoothly and has change of direction and closing burst to become a dominant pass rusher from inside."
"Gives consistent effort and plays like a lead dog looking to eat."

But not a Marinelli guy because he's big and didn't run a fast 40 right?

I think you might have misinterpreted my intent
I said how does he fit and you answered
again I got no dog in the fight.

I think he was genuinely asking the OP about Butler and how he fits, not questioning the pick. Sheesh!

I'd be suprised if booker was there in the 3rd.

Vernon got tagged but I doubt dallas had any interest anyway.

Still seems like a bizarre question. How does he fit? In every way imaginable...is that the answer you seek?

If jaylon smith drops to the 6th I'll take out a loan and buy everyone on this post season box tickets

Broaddus said today he doubts Smith ever plays in the NFL. Much like that RB Lattamore a few years ago.

man....that's tragic. Poor kid got some horrible advice. He still could've stayed at ND, rehabbed for a year and came back to play. PLUS, he would have got a damn useful degree. Now? yikes

Pretty good overall. In particular...I like Wentz (and Goff), Butler, Joseph, Shepard, Smith, & Grant.

Don't think Shepard falls that far. Opinions will of course differ...but I'd even consider using the 4th round comp. pick on Jaylon Smith based on availability and med checks. Reports are varying...so it's hard to say right now, but if there's a chance of him regaining his health, I'd certainly consider it...particularly given the Boys overall recent drought in the middle & later parts of the draft.

There are many runningbacks in the 3rd this year, booker probably will be the 4th or 5th rb taken imo. Vernon got transition tagged so we still could sign him but miami has a week to match the offer or offer more.
