Falcons CB Jalen Collins suspended 10 games by NFL

Another season, another rocky start for Falcons third-year cornerback Jalen Collins.

After serving a four-game suspension in 2016 for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Collins was hit with a 10-game suspension to start 2017 for a repeat offense, the team announced Sunday.

Collins won't be allowed to practice with the team after the preseason ends and cannot return until Nov. 21.

"We are extremely disappointed that for the second straight season we are dealing with a suspension for Jalen," general manager Thomas Dimitroff said in a statement. "Such are the consequences when certain choices are made. Our decisions going forward will be based on what Dan and I feel is best for the team."

Too many suspensions. It's destroying the game.

Its simple, dont do drugs? Everyone understands the rules and teams have staff that should let you know what is acceptable and what is not. They have people and programs in place and if someone still takes something hoping to not get caught that is on them.

There's even an amnesty program where you can literally pre-clear potential performance enhancers with the league before you take them. There's no excuse.

Given there is a list of approved supplements, if that is what this is, you would be surprised how many people would fail a PED test even after reading the ingredients in many OTC supplements that are marketed to the masses because the they are not regulated by the FDA so many of these supplements can have things from plain sugar to steroids in them. Especially ones made outside the prying eyes of govt oversight such as China or Mexico or Vietnam

and you do realize that the population of the US grew a fair amount between 1992 and 2012. Not to mention the number of immigrants legal and otherwise that came from south of the border where baseball is rather popular. So your extrapolation is open to arguement. It would appear the percentage has not changed much at all.
