Falcons WR Lelie signs with 49ers

The Texans have agreed to a deal with free agent wideout Ashley Lelie, according to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
Lelie would been a nice complement to newly-locked up Andre Johnson as a deep threat, second receiver. He knows Gary Kubiak from their Denver days, so Lelie should be utilized better than he was in Atlanta last year.

Adam Schefter from NFL.com reporting the following:

"Free-agent wide receiver Ashley Lelie signed a two-year deal with the 49ers for $4.3 million, including a $2 million signing bonus."

It was said that Lelie and Ahman Green would be in Houston tonight to meet with Texans GM and attend the Rockets-Spurs game tomorrow, but I guess that's no longer the case with Lelie as he is now a 49er.

San Francisco is looking for a player to replace troubled Antonio Bryant, who was released by the team late in the week, but we're not sure Lelie will be much of an upgrade. The two wideouts' profiles are similar, though we'd give the edge to Bryant in terms of being an all-around talent. The Niners should continue to add talent at receiver in the draft.

Yea you have to watch some of these reports because too many people have too many inside sources. I think I will trust Adam from the NFL network who is reporting that Leslie has signed with the 49ers for two yrs 4.3 million with a 2 million sb.
