Its funny, the first thing I thought of was back in 04, I used to post on the fort worth star telegram board. There was a poster there who was a troll, named toinphilly. He was an eagles fan and acted like all the rest of them.

Anyway one day he decided to take the official nfl web page when they say a player has been injured or whatever, and he changes it all around to say larry allen was out for the year, he did it just to make us mad.

Most of us realized it the same day that it was a fake. Then he said how he did it in photshop. Then he thought it would be funny to do it to the Commanders and he made one in the Commanders colors saying clinton portis tore his acl and mcl and was out for the season. This was like the first week of camp, so anyway I am driving home and I am listening to fox sports radio (when they were on the air in Dallas) and all of a sudden the afternoon show, it was tim green and some woman....they come on and say breaking news out of washington DC, clinton portis out for the year. I couldnt believe what I was hearing, I knew it had to be that fake article. So I get home and post on the forum about it and everyone was like what? So then I continued to listen and the dumb station spent 30 minutes talking about it....the ramifications and such.

I emailed there show and told them and left them a link and then sure enough like 10 minutes later the woman said on the air, "A guy on a fort worth message board named TOINPHILLY made it up and portis is not injured"

It was pretty sorry that a station would just put that on the air. I also remember how funny it was when the poster toinphilly signed on to the message board that day and heard that the Commanders were going to take legal action. the dude didnt post for like a month!! Pretty funny.

anyway, thought I would share. Sources are needed for stuff like this. This is a case where message boards are bad.

OMG!!!! Something like this hasn't happend since......TO attempted suicide!?!?!? :choke: and before that...umm let's see......Keith Davis shot AND KILLED!?!?!?! :shoot4:
