Been a fan since 71 loss to colts at age 10. Fan now fan forever when it comes to cowboys. Today, I enjoy all dialogue around players and what we should do “next season.” But I must admit it is getting old and I am too! Twenty eight years is a long time to be discussing “next season.” Obviously, it is clear to most of us fans who is responsible. The ask is simple. If you post just start with “just retire Jerry & son! Maybe just maybe we might get new front office for year 29,…..and then we might get back to winning where it counts.
You and I are on the exact same trajectory sharing the exact same thoughts.

almost as productive as the kazillion dak sucks threads
Jerry and Jerry saddling us with Dak are actually main reasons we haven’t gotten to a Super Bowl or won anything more than a few wildcard games.

KC even with Reid weren’t winning either with the likes of Alex Smith. We are in the same boat as those Chiefs teams and the Vikings, Titans when it comes to QB.

The Cowboys are the most successful team in the league, I dont know what you are talkin...oh wait, on the field? Yeah. No.

Its only a tiny sliver on Jerrys Powerpoint graph of success. Said it before, winning "just enough" to give hope is almost as good as winning it all.
And a whole lot easier too. But that is the best this demonic duo can provide. Either they're clueless or brainless, take your pick.

I’ve been as guilty as anyone in regard to criticizing the FO and keeping my expectations for team success in check primarily due to the shenanigans of Dr. Evil and Mini-Me. But Bill Parcells used to proclaim that there are two sides to a pancake so for once (just for fun) I’m hopping over to the fence to the positive side.

Is it safe to say that we are currently a top 3 team in the NFC? We’ve been conditioned to accept that no difference makers will be signed in free agency, so let’s assume we maintain the status quo. To counter that, we’ve been lucky enough to have Will McClay and his crew present us with pretty solid draft classes.

Now, consider what’s happening to the teams in front of us.

Philly is losing two coordinators, they will have concerns to address in free agency, there’s plenty of tape on this offense now (D-coordinators are quick learners), and they bear the burden of wearing the bullseye of expectation. Still see them as quite formidable but the Cowboys played them well last year and I expect the 2023 battles to be very competitive as well.

San Fran will be entering the offseason with the classic QB conundrum. Purdy had a good stint in his relief role, but I keep circling back the fact that he was Mr. Irrelevant for a reason. I’d wager he doesn’t produce at the same clip moving forward. Then there’s the case of the unknown…Trey Lance. I didn’t trust the faith SF put in him when they moved up to take him 3rd in the draft. He just doesn’t have a body of work that proves he capable of sustained success in the NFL. Big arm and athletic…yes, but has displayed glimpses of having a 10 cent head.

Teams like Detroit the Giants and even that team in D.C. may make a move to challenge, but I wouldn’t classify them as imminent threats to vie for the NFC crown. The reality is, that despite the bungling leaders at the front of this parade, Dallas is in the conference with sub-par QB play and in general stacked with inferior teams across-the-board. This leads to the conclusion that there's nothing logically keeping us from accepting anything short of playing in the NFC title game.

This may be wishful thinking rubbish in a negative Cowboy culture, but I do believe it’s viable rubbish.

That's nice. When will the fourth come? 28 years (which is what it will be once the calendar strikes midnight on 1/1/2024) and counting. Bill Clinton was in his first term as president the last time we won.
chiefs took 51 years, so we are nowhere near that, Bengal's 31 between losses, Baeagles 60 years to win their first and only.. many other examples i wont take valuable time mentioning like the Bills, skins and others have had longer droughts. it happens often, seen it in baseball 75-100 years curses.. teams dont trip into rings very often, you get lucky at times and things come together like tb12 and Mahomes type merges with top HCs but at far from a blueprint of the norm.. if you dont want to wait, move on .thts easy its choice the other 31-year regime only won 2 sure had great run of winning seasons and some trip to other sbs but in reality, its 3-2 if sb WINs are all that matters. so one got 2 in 30 years and the other 3 in 31 years..dotn see much of a difference.

I can wait its called credit, they got 3 in a a short time. think of it as what if they got one every 10 years there less whining no its been 28yrs nonsense, either way ,its still 3 .. :oldcouple:;)

We both came onboard on the same day. A loss against the Colt in the Super Bowl. Temper your expectations and hope that's about all you got these days. It really sux but getting rid of JONES AND HIS SPAWN is not realistic.

Been a fan for over 50 years. Jerry and his family are no longer about championships. They are about relevancy. They just want to be good enough to sustain the income.

They will never be excellent because they don't know how to sustain it.

I get it we are America’s team, yes it’s been 28 yrs when I think of that I remember some teams have never been, some never won even when they got there and only 3 teams have won equal or more Super Bowls than us and only maybe 2/3 has been there more than us.
Puts things in perspective for me
