Fans blaming Dak

Dak made one play that was wow worthy.
He made a bunch of plays that he or any NFL QB should make.
He made a few plays that just leave you shaking your head.

In other words, a typical Prescott performance and the story of his career.

Was it just me or did he seem to do a lot more dancing in the pocket? Not necessary, evasive dancing but this weird short quick step back and forth kind of thing.

Is it also just me that would rather see the face of the franchise show up to the stadium dressed like he's going to work rather than like he spent the morning being dressed by a team of fashion designers? Way to Hollywood for me.

Dak got outplayed by Jaxon Dart. That's just a fact. The INT before halftime was a killer. So, though Dak was not the main problem, he didn't play well enough to matter which is concerning given his contract.
It’s not a fact. Dak doesn’t play defense.

No but, but in typical Dak fashion, he threw the backbreaking INT with the score tied 7-7 before halftime allowing the Giants a chance to "double dip". Next time Dak saw the ball it was 21-7.

So the defense was great last night!
Is it possible to independently evaluate different aspects of the team?

Critiquing Prescott is not synonymous with blaming him entirely for the loss. It was only a one score difference afterall.

The INT wasn’t good, that’s for sure. But I’m never going to blame a first half INT, or any other play for that matter, for a loss. There are many other reasons why we lost, including the INT, but the biggest culprits were the D, receivers, and no run game. Coaching can be blamed too

If you are blaming Dak for this loss....you should be banned from talking football. This defense was a sieve.
What the hell are you talking about, he is to blame, he threw that bone headed pass before the half that got picked off and it led to a Giants TD.

Of course critiquing him is fine. Don’t you see many posters actually blaming Dak for the loss? as usual? Like the penalties, dropped passes, no run game, and the horrid D had nothing to do with it.

You do know the giants scored 28 points, right? Did Dak give up the other 21? Did he let the giants offense dominate time of possession, like the defense enjoyed being in the field and didn’t really want to come off?

I'm not blaming him for the loss. I simply made the obvious claim that Jaxon Dart was the better QB last night, and he wasn't clutch when he had to be. Dak was one many many problems last night.

It is SCARY that people cannot see this. No one player EVER plays a perfect game. But when an entire unit was the WORST in franchise history last year...and the other unit was top 3 - 5 in the NFL last year. And the following year that same unit starts out with the worst or one of the worst performances of week 1...and the other one is average. It should be obvious that the unit that is contiuning on the trajectory of being the WORST in franchise history should be our BIGGEST concern!!!!!!!!!!!

I see you were making a point about the other posters comment. And no I didn’t agree with it either. I see now the point you were trying to make. I never meant you shouldn’t criticize Dak. Trust me there is plenty to criticize. I guess I’m just sensitive to the extremes posters go to to bash Dak and tired if seeing it. And no, you’re not one of them. Of course that’s not to say that they can’t be extreme on a public forum, but I can criticize them too. :muttley:
Bold> Thank you for that, but I must still point out I that I did not criticize Prescott in my original reply to the OP. It was a question seeking the OP's opinion of a particular play that fellow members might actually blame him for.

In my opinion, it is a valid question considering the OP include a provision about talking football. Certainly, it was directed at anyone strictly blaming Prescott alone for the loss, but what about any other discussion about the game? Plays make up games. That was one play.

We could do this all day, play hypotheticals. What if there wasn't 85 yards in penalties? What if the run game existed? What if the O line was average? What about the drops?
It was a complete team loss.
I just covered this type of response with another member. I know the routine. A person can avoid not blaming Dak Prescott solely for losing a game, but it means no one can ask anyone else's opinion about an element of any games that Prescott was involved.

I do not disagree with anything you said. My comment about your comment was more about the OP’s comment and your rebuttal comment. Lol.

Suddenly your defense has to return to the field when it appears we would at least run the clock out. It is never that simple. Turnovers either win or lose you games. Imagine if the Cowboys came up with half of the Giants fumbles instead of only one. That Downs sack fumble could easily been returned for a touchdown but the out of possession offensive lineman happened to have the ball drop right in his hands.
The defense would have had to return to the field anyway. It was 3rd down. Also the GIants scored that TD with 1 timeout left so even if Dak slid down it would not have changed anything.

No clue what you're talking about. Prescott was very much included in blame. "Total team loss" kind of covers that.

Personally, I am not defending anyone after last night's performance, to include the QB. They all sucked. In all seriousness, Dak can't make that throw right before the half.

That INT resulted in points. What was he even trying to do? Sometimes, extending a broken down play is a bad idea. The Giants were swarming, just throw it away.

Dak will never win or even play in a championship game without a top tier defense. Let’s face it, the DC org will never provide that until the GM and family sell the organization. Their teams from 30+ years back have been mentally soft with no true initiative to get to that level. Until then we’ll always be chasing SF, GB, Seattle, Phili who are extremely well managed organizations.

No one's expecting a top tier defense, just an average would get us further.
