Fanspeak Question

I've used that one. The problem is, some of those boards are so off, I wonder how much it impacts the final product. For instance, like I said in a response above, CBS had James Washington WR go to the Jets at 3rd overall. As soon as I saw that I knew it was time to start over.

That's why I like it. There are 32 teams all with different big boards and some of them probably have some outliers. I select composite and pick from NFL.com rankings. The simulator picks fhe other teams based on the big board you select.

I just briefly looked at Genard Avery. He played all 4 years at Memphis. His last 3 years he had 39.5 tackles for loss. He had 21.5 sacks in his career. His stats are very impressive. Then I looked at his combine numbers. The guy is huge. He is 6'01" and 248 lbs but still ran a 4.59 forty. He has a better vertical and broad jump than Calvin Ridley and his 3 cone and 20 yd shuttle is just about even with Ridley. Looks like a good guy to get with our comp pick in the 4th round. Thanks for opening my eyes to this guy.

I just found him today too. Looks like a good player in case Jaylon doesn't progress like they're hoping and in fourth it doesn't invalidate the second round pick we used on Jaylon. Another good one is Tegray Scales from Indiana.

Overview
Highly instinctive linebacker who combines a keen sense of play direction with a feel for the optimal angles to fill up the stat sheet. Scales may lack desired size and speed, but his 36 tackles for loss and 13 sacks over the last two seasons should give an indication of his playmaking ability. Evaluators may hem and haw over where to take him, but he has the football intelligence, motor and skill to continue finding tackles as an eventual NFL starter at inside linebacker or as a 4-3 SAM.
Strengths
  • Elite instincts keep him near the action and racking up tackles
  • Keys play direction instantly and gets early jumps to rendezvous point
  • Vocal leader
  • Can step downhill without getting trapped in the trash
  • Limits run lane depth by challenging climbing linemen early in rep
  • Looks for the action and doesn't wait for it
  • Uses shoulder turn and hand quickness to help play around and under blocks
  • Punches and separates from blocks and rarely gets glued for long
  • Possesses high-end football intelligence
  • Has innate feel for running back's cuts
  • Takes quality angles to the play and is able to adjust them around traffic
  • Decent cover skills in space
  • Gives strong redirect to routes
  • Finished career with eight interceptions
  • Plus coverage teams talent

Good draft! I've run a bunch of different sims, and it seems if we don't go LB in 1st, the pickings are slim in 2nd. Some decent potentials LBs down in late 3rd to 4th.

Genard Avery is a linebacker I like that will probably still be there at the end of the fourth. He faced questionable competition, but his stats and measurables are off the charts.

Did one using Matt Miller's draft board. LOL
