The better team won today. No matter how you cut it they were the better team.

We can bring up conspiracy theories of how the league and refs are out to get us but you will have bogus calls and non calls in games every week of the season.

Our O-Line made enough penalties on their own that even without any bogus calls or non calls we probably would have lost.

We played hard but the Pats Offense was just too good for a team with one starting CB out of the game and the other still hobbled.

It is what it is. A loss that most seen coming. At the very least it was to a team that was at the top of the league and not some nobody scrub team.

Still we are 5-1 and at the top of the NFC East right now.

We have Minnesota coming up than we get a Bye week.

Hopefully by then we get Tank to come in and help the D-Line. Maybe we get lucky and have Glenn and Henry back by then as well.

Point is we lost to a better team, but the team is still in charge of it's own destiny right now.

We put this loss behind us and go forward.

As the title says, Far from happy but not steaming mad. Sometimes you just face a team that is better and no matter the excuses people will come up with all night tonight, it was what it was.

With Henry back and Tank coming in, I think our defense still has room to improve.

Also, Glenn should add a new dimension to our offense.

The penalties just really hurt us today. I can think of 1-2 drives which were easily stalled due to penalties. Not to mention the possessions which were backed up into our side of the endzone.

We needed an error-free game to beat the Pats, and we didn't get it.

And you're correct. With only 1 almost healthy CB, we just didn't have the quality depth to match up with the Pats' WRs.

Yeah, I'm bummed over this loss but not terribly upset over it. We hung with them for three quarters and without number of penalties, I don't believe we would have gotten totally beat up in 4th quarter, not saying we would win but it would have been bit closer than the result.

I still believe we have a very good team, a team that could go deep in the playoff, especially if our pass defense improves.

Well spoken Brain. Our team played fairly well in many phases of the game, but there are also a number of things we can improve on from here. I won't be whining this week, and I'd like to get another crack at those guys in Arizona.

After today, I have no doubt proclaiming us the cream of the crop of the NFC.

Good enough for me at this point. We'll get better.

Good post BP, our time will come and we stared down the Patriots as well as anyone so far. You have to beat the really good teams to be one yourself and all our young players will take this game and know what they need to do to reach the pats level from now on.

Pats the better team, but 5-1 in the NFC isn't bad, it wasn't a Division or Conference loss and the Commanders went down today.

Like I mentioned in my preview, this could be similar in principle to what the US Hockey team did in 1980 against the Russians. Coach Herb Brooks scheduled an exhibition against the Russians and people thought he was nuts and it would kill the team's confidence. But Brooks knew that it was almost impossible for the US to beat Russia in their first ever meeting. However, he knew that if he gave the US a taste of what it's like to play the Russians and what it takes to beat them, then they could increase their chances of beating them the second time they played them.

I honestly believe we had the Pats sweating just a tad bit in that game with Belichick suddenly calling out defensive plays, Brady having an erratic first half and the Cowboys defense getting to Brady more than he's been gotten to all season long. Not to mention that Romo's stats in the 1st time facing Belichick were better than Montana's, Young's, and Manning's.

So yeah, it sucks that the Cowboys lost but I certainly believe that if they play well, they *can* beat this team. There's not many teams in the entire league that can say that. And Dallas gave it a run w/o three starters (Henry, Glenn, and Hoyte) along with no Tank Johnson.

I believed going into the game we would have to bring our A game and they would have to falter in theirs. The reason being is their talent, exp and our injuries in the secondary.

So although I never said it, hinted at it quite a bit, I did not think we would win the game either. I was just too paranoid to say it in the hopes that it would not happen.

So...I wish we would have won. I wish the O-Line would have been more disciplined but I just can't get myself to a state of calling the team or coaches a bunch of scrubs.

We just flat out lost to the superior team at this time. Down the road if we get another shot maybe it will be different.

Good points, BPaint. We got beat by a better team. I just don't want to hear how we only beat the lousy teams and lost to a good team, blah, blah, blah. The key is to bouce back and beat Minnesota and whoever else we face, regardless of record.
