GRUBHUB DATA MINES TOO AND GIVES OUT YOUR PERSONAL INFO. THAT'S HOW THEY MAKE MONEY.
We have received your request to delete your account and all personal information with us and will begin processing it.

Permanently deleting your account might take up to 45 days to complete from the date we received your request —in the meantime, you may still have access to your account. Please note, we will continue to maintain certain personal information as permitted by law, such as a record of your deletion request. Please see our privacy policy for more details about the impacts of your deletion request.

We lost the right to our own "selfs" long ago. I own "ME" not some corporation. But the ones who could change that are bought and paid for sadly.

I have never had a Facebook account and I used to scowl at anyone who did. During FBs first few year of existence a lot of people joined to stay in touch with their friends and family but it was a petri dish for all kinds of malware and viruses. Anyone who was on Facebook probably downloaded one or more bad programs without knowing. Stealing email accounts from FB for phishing and spearphishing was a popular past time for many juvenile hackers.

I imagine it is better now, although my sister calls me at least once every three months with a problem with her computer caused by some kind of malware she got from opening a bogus email.

I still have it, however, I can tell you with each passing year I care less and less about it. When it first came around I was the epitome of the social media user. Posted something everyday. Posted things I was doing all the time. Was very interactive. Now? I'm lucky if I post something once every couple months. I just lost any care for it. When it first came out it felt pretty fun, carefree, and a great way to keep up with your circle of friends. Now it's just nothing but toxicity and narcissism. I've heavily considered axing it but I do actually enjoy the Marketplace, though, even that is becoming a joke. You have to sift through countless posts of crap that aren't even local to you anymore.

Your phone gives the government metadata that doesn't require a warrant. They can see the places you go and map out your entire footprint.

And I couldn't care less. I own a home so they already know where I'm at for like 2/3rds of any given day.

Facebook is horrible. It's a breeding ground for nutjobs of all kinds. Any conspiracy ever can be found on Facebook. Moon landing, JFK, Ancient Aliens fans, Contrails, etc.

It started off as something that was kind of cool, but that was back when people were still dialing up. Anymore, it's just a complete disease. People posting so much of their lives that the only thing you don't see are the moments when they are taking a dump. At least in most cases.
