I have no idea why, but exchanging the phrase "Brett Favre's *****" for "Big Gulps" in this scene made me chuckle.

Its sad that because many of you hate Favre or at least strongly dislike him, he is guilty automatically.

If this was Romo, in the exact same position, you know you would be defending him and ripping anyone for daring to even say it were possible he could do such a thing.

Hardly.
And Favre's no Romo when it comes to his personality.

I don't know how anyone can say for sure it is. If you do, its just out of pure personal bias. It may be him, but there is absolutely no way to know for sure. There are probably 1000s of not tens of thousands of people across the country that could impersonate Favre's voice dang near perfect, especially over a cell phone recording of that quality. Sure it sounds like Faver but have you never heard someone do an impersonation?

Voice recognition software - slam dunk.

actually voice recognition software is only as good as the recording. And if there is background noise, especially other voices, that can affect the results. Only a digital recording can really get it done, and even then there are possible problems.

The fact he's married is irrelevant in my view. I am sure Dianna knows he gets it on the side and she turns a blind eye to it in return for nice house, nice clothes, car and financial security.

Whether someone dumb enough to send pictures of his ***** (by the way was it allegedly at attention or not) should be a QB in the NFL is another question.

As for her not wanting a married guy, many women don't really care if the guy has money.

Actually I agree with you here. You'll have folks come on here claiming the opposite but they're they're being dishonest and they know it.

If it were Romo everyone would be saying "He's innocent until they prove otherwise" or "She's just a gold digging *****."

It's hilarious how the hatred of the guy, simply cause he doesn't make decisions quick enough for the liking of fans of other teams, causes them to just immediately find him guilty.

And, once again, it's pathetic that this is even in the news. It's not anyone out there, including a bunch of nosey fans, business what goes on in the guys personal life.

I love it when people analyze other people on message boards. People they don't know and couldn't possibly know why or how they form their opinions.

I don't "hate" Brett. In fact the opposite. I've always liked the guy as a player. I think he's immature and spoiled but well so are most big name athletes. He just has more mic time and shows his immaturity on a grander scale.

I dunno. I remember when Tiger's indiscretions first came out and he denied everything and then oh after about the 15th or 16th mistress came out he finally had his tearful press conference and the world found out what a weasel husband the guy was. Doesn't make it MY business necessarily but when you're a world famous athlete it's news the same as it is when a politician messes up or a movie star messes up and so forth.

Which, IMHO, is a problem. The news, especially the sports news, should stick to things that pertain to that. Who Brett Favre is, or isn't, banging has no bearing, at all, on what he does or doesn't do on the field.

I remember fondly the days when my sports news was just that, sports news.

I wonder if he is going to have a big Birthday party after the game today. Should be interesting in the Favre household. Probably going to get the cake in the face.

Those days are long gone. If anybody messes up with any semblance of celebrity attached to them it's news. And hey if they're lucky they'll even get their own reality show.

You can't possibly compare Romo to Favre personality wise. I would be shocked if Romo drove over the speed limit or jaywalked. :laugh2:

To the original poster's point. This isn't about greed. The network would generate more viewers if they had the same intensity that they have had with other stories.

It is extremely interesting though, how they subjectively seem to pick and choose who gets the "full media" treatment. Brett, Ben, and Marvin seem to get a pass. Folks like Tiger and even T.O. get more media coverage than a presidential election when they make mistakes.

Even with his being single, if this was Tony Romo, there is no way they would be laying off the story.
