If we lose, it will come down to one word....turnovers. An early one will fully activate the crowd at the Stinc and lift the Eagles.

I definately agree with those that said we need to go up on them early and put them away. We cannot afford to keep them in the game. Shawn Peyton and Parcells are going to have to play to win. Too often they call plays that will have them not lose. In the first game this season we got after it on both sides of the ball.

My observation on McNabb was like most that he was definately moving a lot better against the skins. We can't afford to not get pressure on him and knock him down even if we don't get the sack.

<<<Fast forward to Tuesday>>>

Then let us wait until Tuesday and we can answer the question. This Tuesday we might not have to answer the question at all.

Swirling hurricane-force winds and rain contribute to five Dallas turnovers.

Is this a Philly fan that posted this question?

No, I'm a Cowboys fan and have been around this board since the former SilverStar days. Having established that, my question is a legitimate one and a lot of good thoght has been provided by many in this thread.

Here's my take: If we lose it will be because of our defense not handling Philly's offensive passing game. I think Philly is going ot come out passing, not running. With Injuries to Pile and Henry in our secondary, their best bet will be establish early passing success against our secondary. That outcome will force Roy Willimas into coverage (his weakness) and away from the box (where his strength is defending the run and Shileding Westbrook). If philly establishes this early-passing then they will get their offense going, allowing Westbrook to be a factor in the game as a runner and receiver.

The only way Dallas can lose because of their offense is by maknig stupid mistakes, kind of like they did against the Giants. In the Giants game, Dallas' offense moved the ball at will, but it was mental errors (and defenitely NOT big plays forced by the Giants defense) that stopped Dallas' offensive drives.

I think Philly's defense is putrid and matches up poorly against our offense. Therefore, if our offense can manage the game then the offense will NOT be the reason for losing, if we do lose. However if our offense starts giving Philly's offense opportunities to stay in the game (trough turnovers, or stopped drives that lead to filed gaols instead of touchdowns, or missed field goas) then our defense will have to play lights-out. Anything else will give the Philly offense (and the Philly home crowd) new life.

So in a nutshell, the key for us will be to not play down to the competition, because I trluy believe we're a better team than thay are. If we play down to them and let them hang around then I think we're in danger of losing because we've shown that in hte past. It's time to play the future differently and bring our A-game, regardless who we're playing!

IMO if we lose it will be because the gameplan was overly conservative. Philly has shown it can shut down the run at times. They held Tomlinson to what 17 yards? This game will be won or lost based on how our OL pass protects. If we protect Bledsoe like we did last time we played them we win the game. But I expect they will be very, very aggressive in pash rush. We need to pick that up, especially on 3rd down. I don't know why but I have the feeling Peerless Price could be an important player in this game.

I think it would be due to poor blitz pickup from the OL leading to sacks and INTs.

That's a great point. In the last game against the Eagles Dallas had Flozell Adams and Larry Allen play one of their best games together as a tandem. Now, with Adams gone, it will be Torin Tucket in his place. Hopefully Tucker can play as well as he's played in recent weeks.

Also related to blitz-pickup is the running game. I think we're better off now than in the last Eagles game where we mostly relied on A-Train for blitz pickup. Thompson is not that good in that role and J. Jones was MIA from the last game. This time, A-Train is out but J.Jones and MBIII are in, so overall our running game - and it's contribution to pass protection - should be vastly improved.
