I was in high school when Ridgmount came out. I identify with it more.
And Phoebe Cates in that red bikini is the deal clencher.

Fast Times!

"I can fix that! My dad has the ultimate set of tools"
" I shall serve no fries before their time"
"All I need is some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine"
"Hey dude. Let's Party"
"I've been thinking about this, Mr. Hand. If I'm here and you're here, doesn't that make it our time? Certainly, there's nothing wrong with a little feast on our time."

Dazed and confused for the simple reason that is the movie was set in 1976 and I was going into my sophmore year of HS right then so it fits my life exactly and is very accurate portrayal of HS at that time. We didnt get paddled or paddle anybody though. Occasionally an obnoxious freshman would get thrown into the back seat or trunk of a car and driven a few miles out of town and dropped off and forced to walk back to town. Harmless HS high jinx.
