I thought this would be a great topic to kick around. The following are my favorite games of all time.

Tecmo Bowl (NES)
All Mario Bros. (NES/SNES/GB/DS/GC/WII)
Duck Hunt (NES)
Kings Quest serious (PC)
Final Fantasy (NES/SNES/PS1-2/DS/PSP)
Donkey Kong (NES/SNES)
Pac-Man (all platforms)
Alone in the Dark (SNES)
Lagoon (SNES)
Halo 1-2-3 (xbox-xbox360)
KOTOR 1-2 (xbox 360)
Fury (xbox 360)
Mass Effect (xbox360)

MMO's

Ultima Online
Anarchy Online
Everquest
World of Warcraft - I still play this game far to much (Brontor says..Hey!)

How I got into gaming...

My cousin back in 1986 was hooked on a local arcade game called Mach-3. In this game you were an F-16 fighter pilot battling other enemy pilots in more of a 3d environment. Mach-3 was the first ever video game to put computer graphics over live action footage. It was a great game. Very fun to play.

That summer my cousin went on to be listed as the Guiness Book of World Records champion of Mach 3. So it kind of stuck w/ me.

Right now I'm addicted to tetris. freetetris.org

Gonna see if there's a centipede version online too.

I'm old school, plus I don't know anyone who could teach me to play anything else.

It's funny you say this. I told my kid I was an old school video gamer. He didn't understand what I was really saying, so I broke out my old NES and put on some Mario Bro's. All I heard him saying was

"OMG - how do you play that? It's just a bunch of blocks." I would come back w/ the

"This is how we rolled back in the day. Shut Up and play!" hehe

I love Tetris btw. I play it constantly when I travel. It's great on the plane. Just plug in and match some blocks.

Give me my DS and a few whiskey sours and I am A-OK until Seattle.

Oh Wow! How did I forget DOOM and Duke Nukem. When I lived in Burleson, a lot all of us would gather in my buddies garage every Saturday and play both these games until the wee hours of Sunday morning.

I remember it well. The stench of Shiner Bock beer and Salem cigs is still on my clothes. Those were the days.

Below are some of my favorite Duke sayings that I still use today. They crack up more people than you would think. :p:

It's time to kick *** and chew bubble gum. And I'm all out of gum.

Those alien *******s are gonna pay for shooting up my ride!

Nobody steals our chicks... and lives!

Nukem 'till they glow, then shoot 'em in the dark!

and my all time favorite...

Your face. Your ***. What's the difference? :lmao:

The best line was when you'd click on a dancer.....Shake it baby.....while handing her money. :laugh1:

I still remember beating the first level and the movie comes on. Duke walks over and rips the monsters head off then proceeds to drop his pants sit down and read the newspaper. I was literally :lmao:

The Original Zelda was one of my all time favorites. I drew up maps and everything.

Loved Might and Magic for Sega Genisis and there was a golf game on there they I played a lot, can't remember the name.

Ohh, and the stand up Arcade versions of Defender and Dragons Lair. Those were great games. I was a monster at Defender.

Now, I don't play anything...except WoW. Everything else just takes away from WoW addiction. Just his 70 on my BE pally this morning as a matter of fact. Am now working on getting the Engineering to 375 to get my Roflcopter.

I have many characters on Staghelm if anyone else is on that realm.

Tekken ranks high on my list.

There was a time when Tekken dominated much of life. I would spend entire nights at arcades playing people. I would then come home and play Tekken on my Playstation, committing hours to mastering my primary character--Hwoarang.

I entered numerous competitions, once finishing as high as second. I was good, but not great. The competition in my area was highly mediocre.

When I was a kid I used to go over to my friends grandpas house all the time. Every time I walked in he'd be sitting down playing tetris on the NES. He was a master at it and usually spent his time beating the game about 4 or 5 times a day.

Anyway if I really thought about all the games I've enjoyed over the years I could write a novel but here are a few.

(NES)

-Contra
-All the Ninja Turles
-Bionic Comando
-Mega Man(NES versions)
-Techmo Bowl
-Battletoads
-Castlevania(NES versions)
-Paperboy

(Sega Genesis)

-Sonic 1 and 2
-Mortal Combat 1 and 2 (Genesis versions were better)
-Streets of Rage series

-Original Tomb Raider
-Metal Gear Solid
-Resident Evils
-Silent Hill
-Ace Combats

-Resident Evil 4
-Medal of Honor 2

(PS3)

-Motorstorm

-Tigerwoods 07

I also have a Sega master-system, Panasonic 3DO, and an Atari Jaguar but hardly have any good games on either of them. Pretty much any game on the Neo-Geo was good also, if I had 400 bucks to blow I'd buy one off ebay.

As far as PC games are concerned I used to be an RTS Junky. I loved all the Sim cities, The Sims, Rollercoaster tycoons, Zoo tycoons..pretty much if a game had tycoon at the end of it's title I likely had it or bought it. Granted most of them were just attempts to take advantage of the success of the Rollercoaster tycoon series and lacked depth but they still gave me hours of fun.

The first time I laid eyes on a video game was the PONG-sit down version in a Mexican restaurant called Macayo's. Then it was on to the SEARS tv version of soccer-tennis-etc. After that, I got a 2600 and played the usual favs like RIVER RAID and PITFALL. My time-wasting however started with Nintendo and ZELDA. I would pull up the big papasan chair and sit for hours and hours playing that thing as well as SUPER MARIO.

Of course there was Sega Genesis and the Sonic games as well as one of my favs, ROAD RASH where you could lay the beat down on other riders. This is was also my first introduction to the Madden series. I also bought a Panasonic 3D0 and loved the ROAD AND TRACK'S NEED FOR SPEED. It was cool because you raced various exotics against a rich dude and every time after the race, it would play a video of his reaction on losing or winning.

My real treat into online gaming started with a game called RISE OF THE TRIAD which is a first person shooter. I played against my buddy via dial-up modem and couldnt believe how cool it was to shoot each other. That ate up a LOT of my time. Then it was on to DUKE NUKEM and the rest is history.

As far as PC games go, I am into mainly first person shooters like FAR CRY, CRYSIS, HALF LIFE 1 & 2 as well as the CALL OF DUTY series. I also enjoy map-making as well. You can GOOGLE "Rowdy" and "Far Cry" and see all the different maps I made.
